Speech On World Earth Day - 10 Lines, Short and Long Speech
- Speech On World Earth Day
Only the planet Earth is considered suitable for supporting human life and other life forms. We wouldn't be here if there weren't Earth, and we wouldn't have the ability to travel to other planets. We would therefore be in danger of dying if something happened to the world.
Annually, on April 22, Earth Day commemorates the victories of the environmental movement and promotes the importance of preserving the planet's natural resources for future generations.
The planet on which we reside is Earth. The fifth largest of the eight planets that orbit the sun, it is the third planet. Only on this planet are humans and other creatures able to coexist.
- 10 Lines Speech On World Earth Day
The planet on which we reside is Earth. The fifth-largest of the eight planets that orbit the sun is the third planet. Only on this planet are humans and other creatures able to coexist.
The main goals of Earth Day are to promote environmental awareness, voice opposition to climate change and global warming, and promote volunteerism for the benefit of the environment..
The only planet where life is supported is Earth. It is unique and the only location we have. It will put our survival at risk if we can't protect it
The celebration of this day, which was once solely well-known in the United States, has subsequently spread. It is commonly observed in over 193 countries worldwide. The event includes environmental protection activities.
Short Speech On World Earth Day (200 Words)
Long speech on world earth day (500 words).
By addressing issues like deforestation and global warming, the day emphasises the value of the planet earth and encourages people to reevaluate their behaviour.
The planet's resources are sufficient to feed everyone, but reckless resource extraction has ruined the land, the water, and the climate while significantly reducing biodiversity.
An announcement about global warming is made on Earth Day. The temperature increase has caused extreme climate shifts and global disasters.
If we do not act quickly to halt the increasing pollution on our planet, it will soon be impossible to survive on Earth.
People clean their homes on this day in the neighbourhood and by the roadside. On this day, a lot of individuals are planting plants.
On April 22, the world celebrates World Earth Day to promote sustainability and raise public awareness of the problem. More than 193 nations have observed this day since 1970 to spread awareness of the need to protect the environment. Every year on April 22, the world commemorates World Earth Day to increase public awareness of the dangerous impacts of global warming on our daily lives, openly discuss these effects, and impart knowledge on ways to prevent further damage from occurring and reverse it.
Environmental change is causing several problems, including uncontrolled deforestation, ozone layer depletion, and rising ocean levels.
Initiatives
To make this day successful, everyone can help in their unique way. On this day, some volunteers visit a local piece of land to plant trees to make the planet greener, while others opt to clean adjacent rivers or paths. We should all work together to celebrate World Earth Day on April 22 in any manner we can. People organise long-distance races, attend campaign rallies, and local governments hold a variety of Earth Day festivities. Even a small action, like turning off the lights for an hour at home, has a significant influence. We must fix the harm we have done to our planet, which is also our home.
An event known as Earth Day promotes environmental preservation every year on April 22. Earth Day was initially observed on April 22, 1970, and as of 2018, 1 billion people across more than 193 countries take part in a variety of worldwide events hosted by EarthDay.org. In 2022, the topic is "Invest In Our Planet."
History Of Earth Day
Sen. Gaylord Nelson of the United States created Earth Day as a natural protest that was first observed on April 22, 1970. The Secretary-General of the United Nations at the time, U Thant, recalled it. While the first Earth Day primarily focused on the United States, it was organised by Denis Hayes, a passionate supporter of solar energy. Nelson initially explained to the public the extent of environmental harm caused by industrial expansion.
Nelson sparked multiple large-scale movements, protested, and mobilised the American public to do this. Due to this movement, the government was forced to pay attention to these protesters' demands. And by observing the numerous environmentally friendly decisions that the administration has made. And the UN was kept informed of this topic so that it might be discussed internationally. In the UN, this issue received backing from more than 192 nations.
Additionally, everyone promoted environmental protection in their home nations. Mother Earth's protection needs to be our priority. The resources we obtain from Earth will run out after a while unless we take steps to protect them. To ensure that our future generations may also utilise these resources, we must act now while we still have the opportunity.
What Can We Do
The steps we can take to keep the environment safe are:
Utilising less land for cultivation is the first method of resource preservation. Every year, substantial forest lands are destroyed to make way for agriculture. Crop rotation can be used to grow crops that use less space, which we should attempt to accomplish.
We should concentrate on renewable energy resources like solar energy, wind energy, hydropower, etc., rather than non-renewable energy.
More trees should be planted, and humans and the environment should coexist harmoniously.
Even while holidays like Earth Day are observed annually, it's vital to realise that you may take steps to protect the planet's resources and maintain the environment at any time. The only way to guarantee that our future generations will be able to live well on the earth is to do this.
World Earth Day promotes public awareness of environmental issues and what may be done to address them. It greatly helps in lowering pollution and averting the depletion of nonrenewable resources. It teaches individuals from all areas of life various actions, such as avoiding plastic, putting more trees in the ground, recycling, conserving water, and safeguarding our wildlife and other animals.
Now since time is of the essence, we must become aware of what we are doing. We must immediately take action to repair the damage done to our planet before it is too late.

Best 2-Minute Speech on Earth Day in English for Students
- Updated on
- April 3, 2024
‘Good morning, respected teachers and fellow students. Today, I stand before you to present my ‘Speech on Earth Day.’ Earth Day is a global event celebrated on 22 April every year. Earth Day is crucial for all of us, as it reminds us of the importance of saving Earth’s limited resources for future generations. In addition, Earth Day celebrates the efforts and accomplishments of environmentalists to protect the environment.
‘Leo Tolstoy once said, ‘One of the first conditions of happiness is the link between man and nature shall not be broken.’ Globally, several environmental movements have been launched to save earth from the harmful human activities. In India, too environmental movements like the ‘Chipko Movement, ‘Narmada Bachao Andolan,’ ‘Jungle Bachao Movement’, etc. have highlighted the importance of Earth’s natural resources.’
‘In 2023, the Earth Day theme was ‘Invest in Our Planet’ . This theme was meant to encourage businesses to shift their focus towards sustainable practices. For Earth Day 2024, EARTHDAY.ORG has launched a movement called ‘Planet vs Plastics’ . The objective of this movement is to eliminate plastic use for the sake of our planet’s health. The initial target is to reduce plastic usage by 60% in all sectors by 2040. ‘
‘With the new approach to saving the earth, EARTHDAY.ORG plans to unite governments, organisations, intellectuals, students, and NGOs to call for an end to plastics for the sake of the planet and humanity. Every year, plastic production increases to more than 380 million tons. The demand to eliminate plastic from our environment will help build a plastic-free society for future generations.’
‘Kathleen Rogers, the President of the EARTHDAY.ORG, quoted, ‘The Planet vs. Plastics campaign is a call to arms, a demand that we act now to end the scourge of plastics and safeguard the health of every living being upon our planet.’
‘Our environment’s safety is our responsibility. Plastic was once an amazing product when it was produced in limited quantity. Now this useful product has become something else. It is harming our health, deteriorating our resources, polluting our water, and damaging the environment.’
‘So on this Earth Day, let’s all unite as one and fight against plastic. Only if we act now, we can save our planet from this harmful product. Thank you.’

Speech No.1: Speech On Earth Day Celebration
- Speaker: Professionals, Students, Teacher
- Audience: General or Expert Gathering
Good morning,
Ladies and gentlemen, my dear student and Present Dignitaries
I am…(Self Intro.). It is my pleasure to speak in front of you.
Today is April 22, and this day is celebrated as Earth Day all over the world. Earth Day is more than just a day; it serves as a reminder to value and protect our beautiful world. It was initially commemorated in 1970 and has since grown into a worldwide celebration by people, groups, and governments to support environmental protection, sustainability, and initiatives to deal with issues like habitat loss, pollution, and climate change.
Sometimes it can seem like the last place you want to be is on Earth. In Indian tradition, the notion that the earth is the mother is firmly ingrained. We emerge from the soil. Only a representative who was also born on the same planet is our biological mother. The soil that we carry on our bodies is our true mother. The body you are carrying right now was once an insect, snake, cow, monkey, and human being, among millions of other bodies.
I am not referring to the evolution process, but rather the soil that supports all life. Not a commodity, but soil. It is significantly more intelligent and capable than you, and it is older and wiser. It is a much more extensive process than you personally know.
And there is no denying that our planet is dealing with some serious problems. A lot of issues need to be addressed, such as the destruction of biodiversity, deforestation, pollution, and climate change.
The greatest threat we are now facing is probably change in the environment or climate. As a result of the rise in global temperatures, extreme weather events like heat waves, droughts, and floods are becoming more frequent and severe. These disasters cause significant damage to ecosystems and the communities that depend on them.
Pollution is another significant issue. Our oceans, air, and soil are all negatively impacted by pollution, which also has an adverse influence on human and animal health. The use of single-use plastics and other non-biodegradable materials has a significant impact on pollution.
Earth Day acts as an indicator of how crucial it is to protect the environment. Now is the perfect time to consider how human actions affect the environment and make changes in our lifestyles to lessen our carbon footprint. The commemoration of Earth Day also contributes to raising awareness of the risks posed by climate change and the necessity of taking action to limit additional harm.
World Earth Day is a significant occasion that serves as a reminder of the value of our planet and the necessity of taking steps to safeguard it. Despite the numerous obstacles we face, there are many things we can do to change things.
Let’s pledge to take action today and every day to protect the environment for the coming generations. Let’s pledge to do something to make the world more sustainable on World Earth Day. Let’s endeavor to lessen our carbon footprint and educate ourselves and others about environmental issues. Along with planting trees and restoring wetlands and marine habitats, we must also safeguard and preserve our natural ecosystems.
We can also support Earth Day by using less electricity, conserving water from the faucet, disposing of trash properly, avoiding the use of toxic chemicals in bathroom drains, sharing our vehicles, and driving an electric vehicle.
If we all make the decision to take steps toward a greener planet, the Earth Day celebration can result in a noticeable difference. Although the path to environmental sustainability won’t be simple, we must take it in order to protect our world and the generations that follow. We must cooperate for a better future, as it is our joint duty to save and restore our planet.
Thank you
Speech No.2: Speech On World Earth Day For Students
(4 to 5 Min. Speak time)
- Speaker: School And College Student, Teacher
- Audience: Students, Teachers, General Publi c
Respected Principle, Teachers, and my dear students,
Today is a very special day! It’s a day that brings all of us together to celebrate and cherish the incredible home we share – our beautiful planet Earth! Welcome to the World Earth Day celebration!
On this day, we take a moment to appreciate the wonders of nature that surround us. From the lush green forests to the sparkling blue oceans, from the tall mountains to the vast deserts, our Earth is filled with breathtaking sights and amazing creatures.
You might wonder why we celebrate Earth Day. Well, it’s because we want to remind ourselves of how important it is to take care of our planet. Just like how we look after our toys, our books, and our pets, we must also take care of the Earth.
There are many simple things we can do to help our planet stay healthy and happy. One of the most important things is to reduce, reuse, and recycle. By using less plastic and paper, we can protect our oceans and forests. And when we recycle, we give new life to old things!
Let’s also remember to save energy! Turning off lights and appliances when we don’t need them helps the Earth and saves our parents’ money too! Isn’t that cool?
Another way we can show love to the Earth is by planting trees. Trees are like magical guardians of our planet. They give us fresh air to breathe and provide homes for many animals. So, let’s all become little tree planters and watch our efforts grow tall and strong!
We should also be kind to the animals and plants that live with us on Earth. Just like we care for our pets, we must show love and respect to all living creatures. Remember, we are all connected in this wonderful web of life!
Now, you might think, “I’m just a kid, how can I make a difference?” Well, let me tell you a secret – you have tremendous power! Each one of you can be an Earth superhero! By spreading the message of love and care for our planet, you can inspire others to join in the effort too.
So, on this World Earth Day, let’s make a promise together. Let’s promise to be kind to our planet every day! Let’s promise to do our best to protect it, just like we protect our family and friends.
Remember, Earth is not just a place we live; it’s our home, and we must take care of it with all our hearts. By working together, we can make a big difference and create a brighter future for ourselves and generations to come.
Thank you for being a part of this special celebration. Now, let’s go out there and be the superheroes that our Earth needs!
Happy World Earth Day!
