My School Days

I remember my school days being jovial and fun while learning many lessons about life. Even though I was able to acquire knowledge from textbooks, it was the lessons of friendship, teamwork, hard work, discipline, and sharing that I learnt outside the classroom that remained close to my heart. My school days usually began by running off to the classroom before the first bell, and I would fight with my friends to sit in the first row of the class.

I was an average student during my school days, and I had great fun studying as well as participating in many events and activities at the school. While I enjoyed sports day, annual day and literary fests, I also liked studying in labs as I was able to perform many experiments and projects. The short essay on school days will not be complete without talking about the role of friends in school life.

Each year, I got new friends and teachers with whom I shared my dreams, doubts and worries. There were days when we studied together in the library and days when we asked the teachers to let us go out to play. Along with playing silly pranks on others, we used to go to the school canteen and get hot puffs and sweets as birthday treats. We also shared our lunch boxes and tiffins and complimented the food made by our mothers. My school days were filled with such happy memories, and I am grateful to my school for shaping me as a good student.

Best Things About the School Life for Students

School Life is the best time of our life as we make new friends, learn new things and build our career there. School time is the only time which we enjoy most, and when we enter college, we always miss our school life. School life teaches us lots of new things and prepares us to face all the challenges of life. I love my school life and really enjoy it. I have lots of friends, and all my teachers love me. I love my school and enjoy going there every day to meet my friends and learn new things.

Everyone keeps on saying that school life is the best time of your life. When listening to these phrases from their elders, the school students think about what is good about this life. All we do in the entire day is to attend the classes and to do the homework. But once school life gets over, the students realise that school life was the best time of their life.

Apart from learning great things in school, you make new friends, play different sports and create memories for the rest of your life. The students also learn many life skills like teamwork, good manners, etc., and understand what they want to become in their life.

About My School and School Life

I study in the reputed private school in my city, and I am glad to be a student of this school. My school is one of the most renowned schools in my town. It is very beautiful and huge. My school has all the facilities for sports, study and other activities. Built-in a three-storey building, it is a Co-Ed and Senior Secondary School having Science, Arts and Commerce stream. The atmosphere at my school is delightful. We have a huge playing ground where we all students play different games like Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, etc. We have a separate Basketball and Tennis court, as well as a small and beautiful garden for kids.

The students practice these sports every day. The school also has a big swimming pool and sports area for indoor games. In this area, the students can play Table Tennis and Chess. There is also a big skating rink. Different physical training teachers train us for all these sports. These sports not only keep us fit but also increase our stamina and coordination.

School life is not just limited to studies and sports. There are also other activity rooms such as the music room, art room, and dance room. The Art room is a big hall with lots of colourful charts and various types of paints. The students can portray their imagination and can create beautiful art here. Dance and music are also very important in school life as they help the students express themselves in a new manner. The different movements in dance help the students in unwinding themselves.

My school has a big library where we all read different kinds of books, novels and comics. Apart from the library, my school has well-equipped scientific labs where we all practise various experiments of Chemistry, Physics and Biology. I have learned a lot of things in these labs. My school also has a big computer lab with trained technical staff that help us to learn everything about computers. I love playing on the computer and learning new things in the computer lab. In the computer lab, the students learn about using MS Word and PowerPoint. The computer lab is also called the ICT lab. The ICT teacher teaches the students about the internet and how to use it safely.

All the staff at my school are very polite, educated and experienced. Our teachers not only teach us but also prepare us for various competitions, and every year, my school wins many prizes in various competitions. I have even represented my school in a hockey championship and scored the second position.

The classrooms are big and decorated beautifully with different artwork done by the students. Various projects and models are kept in the classroom for the students to keep on revising their concepts. The teachers use smartboards, and every day a new word is taught to enhance the students’ vocabulary. Every day one student presents the ‘Thought for the Day’. These positive thoughts keep us motivated.

All the teachers at my school are very dedicated and punctual. They always teach us discipline and ask us to come to school on time. Our teachers love us, and they teach us in a very simple and easy way. Whenever we fail to understand anything, they try to make us understand it again without shouting at us. They give equal attention to all the students, and that is why my school has an excellent academic record.

The teachers are well qualified. They use different techniques to teach us the concepts. The atmosphere in the school is fun-filled and fruitful at the same time. The school’s entire staff, from the security guard to the teachers, is very helpful and polite.

We learn many life skills also in school. Discipline, hard work, and punctuality are some of them. During sports classes, we learn teamwork and work together to win.

The best part of my school is its auditorium where all the school events and competitions take place. Our school auditorium is one of the best auditoriums in the town with a great sound and light facility. It is fully air-conditioned with lots of seats. Every year, my school organises an annual cultural festival which lasts for two days. Many cultural events take place within these two days like singing, dancing, debate competition, etc. I love to participate in a poem writing competition every year, and many times I have won prizes as well. Every year, the toppers of our school get awarded on this annual cultural day and we all students love to participate in various events of the annual cultural day.

We also have school assemblies in our Auditorium. Sometimes the students from other schools come and participate in the different competitions organised in our schools. These events are called inter-school competitions. These events are very good as we get to learn new things from other students and make many new friends.

Apart from the annual cultural day, my school is famous for organising one of the biggest annual sports meets. I love this annual sports meet because sports are my favourite. In this annual sports meet, various sports competitions are organised, and almost 50 schools participate in these competitions and win multiple titles. Me, my friends, and our seniors also participate in these competitions and make our school proud by winning in them. My school has great teachers, excellent faculty and all the facilities that one student needs to excel in his/her life.

The biggest reason behind the success and fame of my school is our Principal Sir. He is 50 years old, yet very active and disciplined. He has an attractive personality, and his knowledge is commendable. He loves all the students and always spare some time from his busy schedule to monitor the progress of all the students. I admire his personality and principles. He always encourages us to take part in various extracurricular activities, and it is the result of his support & dedication that the students of my school always perform better in all the competitions. We all are fortunate to have him as our Principal.

Principal sir awards the students who participate and win in different cultural and sports events. He has a good memory and remembers the name of every child. The students feel proud when Principal sir calls them by their names.

After each term, assessments are also being conducted in the school. The teachers prepare us for these assessments, and the results are also shared with the parents. The assessment is a good system as students understand the learning gaps and can work on them. The teachers are very helpful as they assist the students wherever it is required.

I love my school and my school life. Every day I learn new things here and enjoy it with my friends. All my teachers love me and always support me. I have learned discipline and punctuality from my teachers, and it will help me a lot in my future. I am proud to be a student at this school, and I will always miss my school after leaving it. My school life has taught me many things and given me some best friends who will be my friends forever. I wish all the success to my school and love everything about my school life.

The different experiences which the students get in school life help them to become better human beings. When they leave school, they are not just taking the memories with them, but they take many friends, a career and good manners for life. It is the first place where the students come out of their family circles and create a new one with their teachers and friends.

One should also remember that everyone is not privileged enough to get an education. If one gets this opportunity, then be grateful and work towards being a better human being. Cherish your school life and stay motivated.

The transition from middle school to high school can be both exciting and scary. For me, it was a bit of both. I was excited to have more freedom and opportunities, but at the same time, I was intimidated by the new environment and responsibilities. Nevertheless, I pushed myself to step out of my comfort zone and make the most out of my high school years.

The excitement and nervousness that filled me as we went through rehearsals and prepared for the big day is something that I will never forget. As children, we are filled with boundless energy and an insatiable curiosity to explore the world. School days gave us the platform to do just that.

Moreover, school was not just about academics; it also exposed us to different cultures, beliefs, and perspectives. We learned how to work in teams, communicate effectively, and take on leadership roles. These skills are essential in our personal and professional lives.

7. Feeling About School Essay:

School. It’s a word that brings up mixed emotions for many people, especially students. As someone who has spent most of their life in school, I have experienced all the highs and lows that come with it.

On one hand, school has been a place of learning, growth and opportunities for me. It’s where I discovered my love for science and literature, made lifelong friends, and gained valuable skills that have helped me in my personal and professional life. I am grateful for the education I have received and the teachers who have guided me along the way.

On the other hand, school can also be a source of stress, pressure, and even boredom at times. The constant assignments, exams, and expectations can take a toll on students’ mental and physical well-being. It’s no wonder that many students struggle with anxiety and burnout during their academic years.

But beyond the academic aspects, school is also a place where we learn about ourselves and the world around us. We are exposed to different cultures, ideas, and perspectives, which broadens our understanding of society. We learn how to work in teams, overcome challenges, and take on responsibilities. These experiences are just as valuable as the lessons we learn from textbooks.

However, I also believe that school is not always the best environment for everyone to thrive in. The traditional education system may work for some students, but it can also leave many feeling frustrated and unfulfilled. It’s essential to recognize that every student has their unique strengths and passions, and the education system should cater to that.

In conclusion, my feelings about school are complex. It has been a place of growth and learning for me, but I also acknowledge its flaws and limitations. As we continue to evolve and improve our education system, it’s crucial to remember that every student’s experience is different

8. My Childhood School Memories Essay:

As I moved on to elementary school, the days were filled with laughter and learning. I have fond memories of playing dodgeball during recess, participating in talent shows and going on field trips.

Middle school brought about a new set of challenges, but also some of my most cherished memories. It was during this time that I made lifelong friendships and discovered my love for music and sports. High school was a rollercoaster of emotions, but it was also where I learned valuable life lessons and made unforgettable memories.

My teachers played a crucial role in shaping my childhood school memories. They not only taught me academic subjects, but they also instilled values like respect, responsibility, and perseverance. They believed in me, encouraged me to dream big and helped me achieve my goals.

In conclusion, my childhood school memories hold a special place in my heart. They represent a time of innocence, discovery, and growth. Even though those days are long gone, the lessons I learned and the memories I made will stay with me forever. I am grateful for all the experiences and friendships that I gained during my school years, and I will always look back on them with a smile.

So to all the students out there, cherish your school memories and make the most of every moment because one day you’ll look back on them and realize how much they truly meant to you. Keep learning, growing and creating wonderful memories!

9. Best High School Memory Essay:

High school can be a rollercoaster ride for many students, filled with both highs and lows. For me, one of the most cherished memories from my high school days was during my sophomore year.

It was our school’s annual sports day event, where all students participated in various sports and games. I remember being part of the relay race team representing my class. We had been practicing for weeks, and I was determined to do my best.

As the day arrived, there was a sense of excitement and nervousness in the air. The entire school gathered at the stadium, cheering on their respective classes. When our turn came, I ran my heart out, giving it my all. Our team ended up winning the race, and I remember feeling an immense sense of pride and accomplishment.

But what made this memory truly special was the support and camaraderie I felt from my classmates. We were not just a team; we were a family, cheering each other on and celebrating our victory together.

Looking back, that moment taught me the power of teamwork, determination, and friendship. It’s a memory that I will always hold close to my heart and cherish for years to come. High school may have its ups and downs, but it’s moments like these that make the journey worthwhile. So, always cherish your high school memories because they are truly some of the best memories of our lives!

10. Essay on Last Year of School Life:

As a senior in high school, the thought of leaving my last year of school life behind and entering the “real world” is both exciting and terrifying. It’s a bittersweet feeling, knowing that this chapter of my life is coming to an end.

On one hand, I can’t wait to move on to new adventures and experiences. The freedom and independence that comes with college and adulthood is incredibly alluring. No more waking up early for class, no more strict schedules or rules to follow. I’ll finally have the chance to explore my interests and passions, make new friends, and take control of my own life.

But on the other hand, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia for the past four years. High school has been a place of growth and learning, both academically and personally. I’ve made lifelong friendships, learned valuable lessons, and discovered who I am as a person. It’s scary to think that all of that will soon be left behind as I embark on a new journey.

As my last year of school life progresses, I find myself cherishing every moment more and more. I attend school events, participate in extracurricular activities, and spend time with my friends whenever possible. I know that these experiences will soon become memories, and I want to make the most of them while I can.

Leaving high school also means leaving behind the comfort and familiarity of my hometown. It’s a place where I’ve grown up and created countless memories. Saying goodbye to my family, friends, and the place I’ve called home for so long is a daunting thought.

But as much as it may be scary and sad to leave behind my last year of school life, I know that it’s necessary for growth and progress. And although I may leave this chapter of my life behind, the experiences and lessons will stay with me forever. As I move on to new adventures, I’ll always look back on my last year of school life with fondness and gratitude for all that it has taught me. So here’s to the last year of high school – may it be filled with memories, laughter, and bittersweet goodbyes as we prepare for the next chapter of our lives

11. My School Life Essay  ( 150-200, 300-500 Words )

I know what you’re thinking, “Another essay?” But hear me out, this one’s not about some boring topic that you’ll never use in your life. It’s about something we can all relate to – our school life.

School is something most of us have known since we were little. It’s where we learn and grow as individuals, make friends and create memories that we’ll cherish forever. It’s a place where we spend the majority of our time during our formative years, and it plays a crucial role in shaping who we become.

For some of us, school might have been a drag – long hours, boring lectures, endless exams. But for others (myself included), it was the best time of our lives. Sure, there were challenges and tough moments, but looking back, those experiences have helped us become who we are today.

One of the best things about school is the friendships we make. Our classmates become our partners in crime as we navigate through the ups and downs of academic life. They’re the ones who understand what it’s like to pull an all-nighter to finish a project or cram for an exam. And let’s not forget the inside jokes that only we and our classmates will understand.

Apart from friendships, school life also teaches us important life lessons. We learn discipline, time management, and responsibility as we juggle between classes, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments. We learn to work in teams, communicate effectively, and think critically. These are all skills that we’ll use throughout our lives, whether in further studies or in our careers.

But it’s not just about academics and life lessons, school life also gives us opportunities to explore our interests and passions. From joining a sports team to participating in drama productions, there’s something for everyone. These extracurricular activities not only provide a break from studying, but they also allow us to discover our talents and strengths.

Memories of my school days

By Michael Leo

essay on your school days

The school life is the best life. Anyone who has been a student, knows what school life is all about: It is the golden period of learning and it truly impacts students’ lives. The importance of school life cannot be negated and it is a vital formative experience for children and adult students alike.

School represents an important learning experience which teaches us self-confidence, motivation, and the will to always give our best. In addition, school blesses us with friends, many of whom remain with us for the rest of our life. School days really are the best days of our lives, and I have only good memories of my school days. For me, these days are like an invaluable treasure.

I clearly remember my first day at school and the memories of this day are still vivid. I can still feel how warmly I was welcomed at the school. Such a warm welcome can truly define a child’s school experience in the best possible way.

As a school boy I learned to co-operate and got motivated and shaped in the company of my best friends. I still remember the first year wishes we received from my teachers and I always regard my primary school life memories as a treasure.

My time in high school was an equally valuable learning experience and I met some of the best friends I have today in high school. Admittedly, I made a lot of blunders and mistakes during my high school years. But thanks to my sincere friends and honest teachers I was always rescued from too much trouble. This is how high school taught me the T true meaning of co-operation and love.

Looking back, I realize how ignorant I was during my school days and how many shortcomings I had. However, my time in high school showed my how important school life is and I would not have the great friends, good knowledge, good experiences and good memories I have today if it was not for my high school years.

Despite the excitement with which the high school days  and years are filled, we also become mature enough to understand the value of time. My high school life is a wonderful chapter in my memories because I learned dedication, hard work, motivation and self-actualization.

My high school years were also the period in which I started working hard towards my goals. Thanks to that, I am happy with the career and the life I have today. One of my best high school memory was the day when I won a prize in the annual inter schools science fair. It was a moment of great pride for me, as well as for my parents and for my school. The Principal of our school gave me a shield which I still have and treasure to this day.

During my school days, I always had the habit of recording my experiences in a diary. During my free time I would always open my diary and write. It helped me soothe my pain and it fulfilled me with confidence and courage. It fulfills me with confidence and courage.

I still have a lot of pictures we took in high school which remind me of all the good memories we made. I remember the days we celebrated and the extracurricular activities we took part in. I remember how happy my parents were when I became the top achiever in my entire school.

It is said that a person always remembers their first day at school and their last day at school. The first day a child remembers because it came there weeping. And the last day a student remembers because they leave school, weeping again. In my case, I remember clearly my first day at school and my last day at the school. The joys of school life are surely countless. Indeed, the school days are the best of our lives.

My School Essay 500 Words

The place where children as the leaders of tomorrow study and where the future of the nation is shaped are called schools. Education is an essential weapon for tomorrow, so the good schools of today are important for the best future of a nation. Schools are the center of learning where we attend classes on various subjects, interact with the teachers, get our queries

answered, and appeared in exams. In my school, learning is more like a fun activity, because of the extra-talented teaching staff.

My school is a government primary school located on the outskirts of the city. Usually, when people think about a government school, they perceive it to be at an isolated location and have poor basic amenities and teaching facilities. But, despite being a government school, my school defies all such speculations. Teachers of my school are not only knowledgeable about the subjects they teach but also are skilled enough to teach through fun activities. For example, our physics teacher explains every concept by stating real-life examples that we could relate to. This way we not only understand the subject better. Moreover, not a moment I remember, when any teacher had ever replied rudely to any of the students. They always patiently listen and provide answers to all the queries posed to them. Learning at my school is fun and it is made possible only because of the teachers.

My school is very important in my life, in a way even more than my family. My family gives me love, care, and affection, and provides for all my other essential needs. But, all of this isn’t enough to make me a good human being and succeed in life.  Favorably, I am lucky enough to be enrolled in a prestigious school, and gaining a wonderful education, looking forward to realizing my dreams one day. The most necessary for success in life is education, and only my school provides it to me. Without my school and the education that it gives, I would be like a confused and wandering soul, almost aimless in life.

My school helps with my educational and overall personality development. It imparts education through classes, tests, and exams to teach me how to conduct myself confidently. It just feels so great to be in my school and be a part of everyday activities, be it lectures, sports, or Something else. While in school, I always feel happy, confident, enthusiastic, and loved. I make friends at school, those whom I will never forget and will always love them. My family supports my materialistic needs, but school is the place where my actual physical, social, and mental development takes place.  I know that every question that crosses my mind will be answered by my teachers. I also know that my school friends will always be at my side whenever I need them to be. As much as the studies, my school also stresses much on These activities as the management thinks that extracurricular activities are very essential for our overall personality development. My school provides dedicated teachers and staff for each extracurricular activity. We have a big sports ground with kits for all the major sports; a covered auditorium for dance and music and a separate basketball court.

The role my school plays in my personality development is fantastic. It not only imparts education in me but also teaches me how to conduct myself and how to behave decently and properly. I get trained in all the other necessary skills of life, like how to keep calm in challenging situations and help others as well. My school teaches me to be a good and evolved human being, to stay composed and progressive always. It also teaches me to be kind and generous to others and not differentiate them based on their caste, religion, ethnicity, or other divisions. These are some of the most essential personality traits that my school imparts to me, something that I will always be thankful for. Every time I think of my school, I think of it as a temple of education. A temple, where my soul meets education, making my life more meaningful and useful to society and the nation as well. It is a place where my aspirations get a wing and I get the strength and confidence to realize them. No other place in the entire world could replace my school and the role that it plays in my life. I will always be thankful to my friends, teachers, and the staff of my school, for making it such a comfortable and Educational place of learning.

On my first day, I got up excited and put on my uniform for the first time. The feeling it gave me was so memorable, I can never forget it. As it was my first day, both my parents went to drop me off.

I remember seeing the classroom full of little children. Some crying while the others playing with others. I looked at my mother and gave her the look that I didn’t want them to leave. They had to go so I kept crying but eventually, my teacher consoled me.

Once I settled in the class, I talked with the other kids and started playing with them. The colourful walls of the classroom fascinated me a lot. We got many toys to play with so it all the other kids also got distracted and stopped crying.

My Sister My Saviour

My advantage was that my sister was also studying in the same school. She is 3 years older than me so she was my senior. During recess, I was starting to miss my parents so I got teary-eyed.

But, then my sister came to meet me and I feel she was no less than a saviour for me that day. She took permission from the teacher to take me out and I went with her to the playground.

We were swinging throughout recess. All my worries went away because I had a known face with me. After eating and swinging together, the bell rang to mark the end of the recess . So, she dropped me back to my class.

Before leaving, she gave me a kiss and patted my head. It was enough for me to go through the rest of the day without crying. Thus, it made me feel extremely blessed that I had my sister there for me.

My Experience in School as a Student

1. Introduction

As a student, I have had to find ways to manage the unique academic pressures of school. From juggling assignments and exams each semester, there were always plenty of challenges during my educational journey; however, these also brought positive moments – like gaining new knowledge that has been essential for growing both personally and professionally.

2. Body Paragraphs

Navigating the social scene of school can be a tricky endeavor, as finding one’s place among peers is key. At first, I found it difficult to make friends and fit in; however, over time I was able to foster genuine connections with others that have since flourished into lasting relationships.

Through participation in extracurricular activities, I grew as a person and developed new abilities. From sports to clubs, these experiences taught me valuable skills while also allowing me the chance to have fun with friends . Of course, all this took effort; it was key for me to find harmony between my school work and extracurricular so that neither suffered from neglect!

school. The school had a big and beautiful three-storeyed building. A watchman in khaki uniform was standing at the main gate. My father parked the car near the main gate and we all entered the school. My sister went to her classroom. My father took me to the Principal’s office. Many children along with their parents were standing in front of the office.

The Principal serially called out the children and then signed their admission form. I was admitted to the first standard. My classroom was on the ground floor, When į entered the classroom, I saw 20 to 25 students present there. I also saw Sudha’s sister in the classroom. Sudha is my sister’s friend. She welcomed me. My class teacher asked me to take a seat in the first row. After two hours we had our recess. We all closed our schoolbags and came out.

My sister was waiting for me outside the classroom. Both of us finished our tiffins. After that, we played for some time and went back to our respective classrooms. Our class teacher told us about the rules and regulations that we need to follow in the school. Then she gave us the list of books, asked us to learn the tables. She also asked me to recite a poem. She congratulated me for reciting it correctly.

The school got over at 12.30 p.m. My sister came to pick me up. She carried me to the main gate where our mother was waiting for us. All three of us took a rickshaw and came back home. I feel very happy and pleased when I remember my first day of school.

Set 2: Essay On My First Day in School 500 Words

School is regarded as a temple of learning. It is also considered as a training institution for future good citizens. Unfortunately, not all children are lucky to go to school. A school is a training ground for the child. The child builds new relations, meets boys and girls of different natures, and forms new thoughts and habits. The right kind of school is of great importance because a school prepares the child for taking up different challenges in life.

My parents had enrolled me in a local school at the age of five. The memory of my first day in school is still fresh in my mind. It was a big school. It had six floors. There were thirty classes in my school. In all, there were thirty-three teachers and four sirs. There was a separate room for the Principal. He was a very strict person. The school had a compound where we played during thirty minutes recess. There was a big ground behind the school. However, we were not allowed to go there.

One day my parents took me to the Principal’s room and got me admitted to the school. I was very afraid of seeing the big white beard of the Principal. He asked me my name, my age, and some other small questions. I answered them nervously. Later after having some talks with my parents, he gave me a small packet of candies and asked me to distribute them among my classmates after school reopened next month.

In the next twenty days, the school reopened. As it was my very first day, I went crying to the school. I felt very bad leaving my parents. I entered the class and sat on the first bench. My class teacher entered the class. She seemed very kind. She treated me very well. In the beginning, I felt a bit nervous in the new atmosphere. Children looked at me surprisingly and smiled. Maybe because I was little fat and tall than them. That day I got my first lesson in English alphabets and Maths digits.

The bell for recess rang. Children rushed out of the classroom. Some of them gathered around me as if they were watching some strange creature. They started laughing at me and made fun of me. I felt very bad. However, a few children felt sad for the trouble caused to me by other children in the class. Some came forward to support me. This was something very new for me.

The final bell rangat two o’clock in the afternoon. All the children were overjoyed. Even I was happy that the first day got ended. I picked up my bag and water bottle and hurried back to my home.

Set 4: Essay On My First Day in School

A lot of the things I did just yesterday I will have difficulty in remembering but many years ago my first day in school, I remember in every detail. It was a Wednesday morning in March at Mount Abu. It was a cold morning and I was shivering because I did not want anything to spoil the new school uniform I was wearing.

The previous day my Mother, Father and I had visited the school to see my class and meet my class teacher and so I knew where I had to go and who would be my teacher.

That day my mother woke me up very early. I was just two and a half years old and I cried when I was awoken so early. She reminded I had to go to school that day and I quietened down and went through the process of getting ready fast. My mother gave me a bath. That day she prepared my most favourite breakfast which I had happily. For my recess break too she prepared my favourite upma and packed it neatly into my new tiffin box and put it into my bag. I was ready and waiting outside before my Mum and Dad joined me. The taxi brought us to school well in time. My parents took me to my class where the teacher Mrs. Varghese stood with open arms to receive me. She was a very kind and gentle lady. I was the first student to reach her class. After speaking briefly to her my parents kissed me and assuring that they would return to pick me up, they went away.

My teacher showed me where to sit and made me comfortable. Just then a class mate of mine came, a girl by the name of Richa and she was crying loudly. Soon after her many came in with their parents and all were crying. I felt that there must be something that I am supposed to fear and so I too started crying. My teacher sang for us, played music for us, acted the clown for us but we just cried. In the end she started crying and then one by one we stopped crying. I went over to my teacher and told her not to cry. Then my teacher stopped crying and we did whatever she told us to do. We loved her because she was just like us.

Set 5: Essay On My First Day in School

My mother accompanied me to school on the first day. Other parents accompanied their children as well. We all waited in front of the school office.

Soon a teacher came and led us to some classrooms. There we were put into four separate classes. This was when some children began to cry as the parents were not allowed into the classrooms. I did not cry because I had been to kindergarten before. Actually my mother went home soon after for she knew I would be all right.

It was an enjoyable time for me as I got to know my new classmates. The teacher was very busy writing down our particulars so we had plenty of time to ourselves.

Meantime some children continued to sob while their parents looked in anxiously through the windows.

Soon recess came. Some of us headed for the tuckshop while the rest headed for their parents. I bought a drink with the money my mother gave me. Getting to know my new friends had made me thirsty.

After recess we went back to our classroom and my new friends and I managed to coax two boys to stop crying. In fact, soon we were laughing and playing together. Once in a while the teacher had to tell us to keep quiet as we were making too much noise.

Still some parents looked in anxiously through the windows.

Finally the bell rang for us to go home. Some of us relieved to be reunited with our parents. I too were very was glad to see my mother waiting for me at the school gate. I had made many friends. It had been a wonderful first day at school.

Set 6: Essay On My First Day in School

This is my third school. Yet, on the day I joined it, I was very nervous. We had shifted to Singapore recently and so I had to change to this school.

This school is very different from my previous one. It has a very grand and imposing building. There are big playgrounds on two sides and a beautiful garden in front. I was very happy to come to this school and had visions of all the games that I would be able to play. And yet I was full of apprehensions.

I saw some students walking around. They seemed to be quite indifferent to me. A few even stared at me insolently. It frightened me. How would I get along with these students? Just at that time, the class teacher of my class came out of the Principal’s room. She took me to my class, introduced me to the students, asked a student to give a seat to me and told me that I should sit there every day. That student did not even say ‘hello’ to me. All my apprehensions came to the fore. I felt very alone and stupid.

Then the bell rang. The teacher left the class. Some five-six students crowded round me, asking my name, telling me theirs, making fun of each other and pulling each other’s leg. Soon I was one of them. What I considered their aloofness was just discipline. How could they talk in front of the teacher! Now, I love my school.

Set 7: Essay On My First Day in School

I got admission in the nursery class after my parents and I were interviewed. Yesterday was my first day at school. I went to school with my father and elder sister, When I entered the school building I found many boys and girls with their parents and guardians. Some of them had come for getting admission and others were to join the school for the first day.

The building of the school was very beautiful. There were forty rooms and the Principal’s office was on the ground floor. It was a two-storeyed building. In the library, a large number of boys and girls were reading magazines and newspapers. Some boys and girls were playing different games in the playground.

Many parents and children were going in and then coming out of the Principal’s office after the interview. I went to my classroom. My class teacher Mrs. George was teaching the class. On entering the class room, I greeted my teacher and I was asked to sit. She taught us English, Hindi and some numbers with the help of pictures and toys. I was very happy to learn through playway method. After the class my teacher introduced me to all the students of my class.

In the recess, many classmates came to me and asked my name and address. We ate our lunch together. After recess we had periods of games and music. Then the last bell went and the school was over. My father had already come and was waiting for me. I went home along with my father. I liked the school and enjoyed my first day at school.

Set 8: Essay On My First Day in School

A lot of the things I did just yesterday I will have difficulty in remembering but many years ago my first day in school, I remember in every detail. It was a Wednesday morning in June and it was raining. But I was not ready to wear a raincoat. because I did not want anything to spoil the new school uniform I was wearing.

That day my mother woke me up very early. I was just two and a half years old and I cried when I was awoken so early. She reminded I had to go to school that day and I quietened down and went through the process of getting ready fast. My mother gave me a bath. After speaking briefly to her my parents kissed me and assuring that they would return to pick me up, they went away.

Set 9: Essay On My First Day in School

Loknath Memorial School is a very big school with large grounds and three huge buildings. I entered the school gate, clutching both my parents’ hands as I was very nervous. My mother put a gentle arm around my shoulders and I felt a little comforted.

A peon from the school showed my parents the way to the principal’s office. Now I was almost in tears. As we entered the room, the principal rose from his chair and walked up to me. He held out his hand and my father gave me a little push towards him. We shook hands and he welcomed me to his school. He was cheerful and tried to make me smile, putting some sweets into my pocket.

Then we were sent to the Primary Department as I was to start my first day in class III. The teacher greeted my parents, took me by the hand and led me to a desk in the first row. I looked at my parents and waved as they turned to leave.

The teacher introduced me to the class and all the children said a loud “hello” to me. At once I felt I belonged to the class. During the break, some boys gathered around me and asked me many questions. We talked for a while, then it was time for lessons again. Naveen, who sat beside me, very kindly shared his text books with me as my parents hadn’t bought my books, on the first day. During the last period we had a singing class. I joined in happily as I love music.

The boys rushed out when the bell rang at 1.00 p.m. and I ran out too, eager to reach home.

Set 10: Essay On My First Day in School

The family was extremely excited that day. My parents had taken me to the temple the previous day and my bag was packed with great care. I was to go to School for the first time in my life. I was three years old and I still remember the day I first went to school. My father came to drop me to my classroom and helped me to get familiar with my teacher and class. I hated the thought of being away from home for so many hours. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I got off the car and held my father’s hand.

My father could sense my fear and tried to cheer me up by drawing my attention to the playground where the swings were inviting me to come and play. I felt a little better as I saw many other boys and girls entering the class where I had to go. Father left me in the room and drove to the house. I felt my heart sink as I saw but I soon began to feel better.

Mrs. Smith. She was a kind lady who made all of us feel comfortable. Soon I realized that school was fun as Mrs. Smith taught us some songs and told us a few stories. She took the place of our mother in our school.

My partner began to share his lunch with me everyday. We became the best of friends and soon I fell in love with my school. However even today, when I think of my first day at school I remember the fear that I had and how my teacher and my friends helped me to overcome this feeling.

My memories of the first day at school haunt me till today. Never again have I experienced such a mixture of strange feelings. The anxiety of being in school along with the excitement of making new friends- all these made my first day at school most memorable and I long for the innocence and fun that was common among me and my friends.

Set 11: Essay On My First Day in School

Set 12: essay on my first day in school.

My first day at school is a memorable one. I saw boys go to school and I also felt a keen desire to be among them. One day, when I was hardly seven, my father took me to the school in a neighbouring village at a distance of a kilometre and half from my own. It was a small primary school. There were two teachers, the head teacher and his assistant.

We went straight to the head teacher, as he was already known to my father. The head teacher scanned me from head to foot and remarked that I seemed to be intelligent and promising. My father offered him the sweets that we had brought with us. The sweets were distributed among the students of the school and I was admitted to the first infant class. My father left and I was sent to the assistant teacher.

The assistant teacher was a bug-bear for me. He carried in his hand a big cane. He now beats one boy most mercilessly and then another. I trembled with fear in my shoes. My blood curdled cold in my veins. I cursed my stars. At last, the teacher turned his attention towards me. He taught me the first few letters of the Urdu alphabet and asked me to memorise them. On a gloomy afternoon, with an aching heart, I was cramming the first few letters of the Urdu alphabet. What on earth did they mean? What was their sense? It all seemed absolute rigmarole to me. However, there was one thing I could always do; I could learn by heart. In due course, the teacher returned.

“Have you learned it?” he asked. “I think I can say it, Sir,” I replied. I gabbled it off. He seemed to be satisfied with it. My fears were a bit allayed. I hated the school. What a life of anxiety at the school! I wept in my heart at the loss of my freedom. I yearned for my mother’s kisses, love and tenderness. I badly missed the cakes and biscuits. I badly missed my friends. I was deprived of my games and pranks. I lost all smiles and joy. I counted the minutes and hours to the end of the daily round of school.

200 During the recess period, all my class fellows crowded around me. One pulled my ear, another my shirt and the third pulled my hair. A boy knocked me to the gro ground. I received bruises on my knees and elbows. I could not help crying.

At 4 o’clock, the last bell rang. I made for home along with my village fellows. I told everything to my mother. I wept but she consoled me and advised me to bear it all. My fears were not dispelled. But there was no way out of it. I must go to school and face the teacher’s rod.

Set 13: Essay On My First Day in School

School is regarded as a temple of learning. It is also considered as a training institution for future good citizens. Unfortunately, not all children are lucky to go to school. A school is a training ground for the child. The child builds new relations, meets boys and girls of different natures and forms new thoughts and habits. A right kind of school is of great importance because a school prepares the child for taking up different challenges in life.

My parents had enrolled me in a local school at the age of five. The memory of my first day in school is still fresh in my mind. It was a big school. It had six floors. There were thirty classes in my school. In all, there were thirty-three teachers and four sirs. There was a separate room for the principal. He was very strict person. The school had a compound where we played during thirty minutes recess. There was a big ground behind the school. However, we were not allowed to go there. One day my parents took me to the Principal’s room and got me admitted in the school. I was very afraid seeing big white beard of the Principal. He asked me my name, my age and some other small questions. I answered them nervously. Later after having some talks with my parents, he gave me a small packet of candies and asked me to distribute them among my classmates after school reopened next month.

In next twenty days, school reopened. As it was my very first day, I went crying to the school. I felt very bad leaving my parents. I entered the class and sat on the first bench. My class teacher entered in the class. She seemed very kind. She treated me very well. In the beginning, I felt a bit nervous in the new atmosphere. Children looked at me surprisingly and smiled. May be because I was little fat and tall than them.

Set 14: Essay On My School

It is very important that every child, rich or poor, goes to school because it is in a school that we learn many important things. We are taught how to behave with others and how to live a better life.

I study at St Martin’s High School, Civil Lines, Lucknow. The school has four buildings. My class de four b is in the building for primary children. The beautiful garden, the grassy lawn and the Ashoka trees along the pathways make the school a beautiful sight.

Besides the beautiful buildings, my school also has a basketball court, a huge field for outdoor games, a swimming pool and a canteen where fresh food is cooked everyday.

Our school takes part in inter-school hockey, football and cricket tournaments, as also in debates and elocution contests. Our school has won many trophies, especially for debates and football.

Every year, our senior students from Class X and XII secure very good results and our school is on the merit list every year.

The principal of our school is a great scholar and our teachers are highly qualified and well trained, so we students get a good foundation in our studies. I am certainly very proud to belong to a school like this.

Essay on My Childhood Days

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Childhood Days in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on My Childhood Days

My early years.

I remember my childhood days with a smile. They were filled with joy, games, and laughter. My mornings began with school, where I met my friends and learned new things. After school, my afternoons were spent playing games like hide and seek or soccer.

Family Time

Evenings were special because that was family time. We would have dinner together and share stories of our day. Sometimes, we watched TV shows or played board games. Those moments made me feel loved and secure.

Summer Holidays

Summer holidays were the best part of my childhood. No school meant more time for fun. We visited grandparents, went to the beach, and ate lots of ice cream. Those sunny days seemed endless, and I made many happy memories.

Lessons Learned

Growing up, I learned valuable lessons. I learned to share, to be kind, and to respect others. These lessons have shaped who I am today. My childhood was a magical time that I will always cherish.

250 Words Essay on My Childhood Days

I remember my childhood days as a time filled with fun and laughter. I was always busy with games and adventures. My friends and I would play outside from morning until the streetlights came on. We didn’t have smartphones or tablets, so we used our imagination to create our own games. We played tag, hide and seek, and sometimes we’d kick a ball around for hours.

Family was a big part of my childhood. We would eat meals together, and my parents would tell stories of their younger days. On weekends, we often visited my grandparents. They had a big garden where I helped plant flowers and vegetables. I loved watching the plants grow over time. It felt like magic.

School Days

School was another important part of my life. I enjoyed learning new things, and I had some favorite subjects like art and story time. My teachers were kind and patient, and they made sure everyone understood the lessons. The best part of school was making friends. Some of them are still my friends today.

My childhood taught me a lot. I learned to share, to be honest, and to care for others. These lessons have stayed with me and shaped who I am now. When I think back to those days, I feel happy and grateful for such a simple and joyful time. It was a time of pure joy and discovery, and I cherish those memories deeply.

500 Words Essay on My Childhood Days

My early memories.

When I think about my childhood days, a smile comes to my face. These days were filled with endless games, laughter, and learning new things every day. I remember waking up early to the sound of birds chirping and the sun peeking through my bedroom window. My mornings would start with a bowl of warm cereal, and then I’d rush outside to meet my friends.

Playing with Friends

Playing with friends was the best part of my day. We had a big field near our house where we played soccer, hide and seek, and tag. The games would go on for hours, and we would only stop when our mothers called us for lunch. We didn’t have many toys, but we had lots of fun using our imagination to come up with new games.

Family was a big part of my childhood. We would have dinner together every night, and I loved listening to stories from my grandparents. On weekends, we sometimes went on trips to the park or the zoo. My parents would teach me about different animals and plants, and I felt like I was on an adventure.

Festivals and Celebrations

Festivals were a time of joy and excitement. My family celebrated many festivals, and each one had its own special food and activities. I remember helping my mom make sweets and decorate the house. The whole neighborhood would come alive with lights and music, and everyone would share their food and happiness.

Learning and Growing

My childhood days were simple but full of joy. They taught me the value of friendship, family, and learning. These memories are like treasures that I keep in my heart. They remind me of a time when life was less complicated, and the biggest worry was what game to play next. I am grateful for those days, as they shaped who I am today.

That’s it! I hope the essay helped you.

Happy studying!

3 Ways to Get Your Teen Excited About School

Unlock motivation and engagement for a bright future..

  • A Parent's Role
  • Take our Authoritative Parenting Test
  • Find a family therapist near me
  • Engaged students are more than twice as likely to thrive and see a great future ahead of them.
  • Lack of engagement often shows through minimal effort, easy class choices, and avoiding school discussions.
  • Teens are more engaged when they like the subject matter and see its real-world applications.
  • Hands-on learning and passionate teachers can reignite a teen's interest in education.

A recent survey of over 2,000 Gen Zers enrolled in kindergarten through 12 th grade found that 25% to 54% of the students do not feel that what they’re learning is important or interesting. Just under half of those surveyed think their schoolwork positively challenges them, and even fewer think their schoolwork aligns with what they do best. Why do these numbers matter? Because according to the survey, students who feel engaged at school are more than twice as likely as students who report the lowest engagement to be thriving in their lives and are more than four times as likely to strongly agree they have a great future ahead of them (Gallup, 2024).

Essentially, we want our teens to be engaged in learning. We want them to feel passion for some of their subjects, to feel excited and challenged about material, and to think their education will help them in the future. From research on motivation , we know it’s not possible to always feel passionate, excited, and challenged when it comes to anything. These things will ebb and flow and that’s completely normal. In fact, I cover this in depth in my book, Helping Your Unmotivated Teen . But we want our teens to feel engaged in learning and to feel challenged at school, no matter their level of motivation.

How to Know Your Teen Isn’t into School

For some parents, this is a no-brainer. Your teen complains constantly about school, and you have to pull out every trick in the book to get them to do their homework or study. You’re painfully aware of how much your teen doesn’t like school or learning. But for other parents, it might not be as obvious. Your teen may not be as talkative or be able to articulate what’s bothering them. Or maybe you have a busy household or your teen has lots of different things going on and you just don’t have the time or space to really know what’s happening in every area of their life.

Here are some signs that your teen isn’t engaged in learning*:

  • They put in very little effort on their schoolwork. Please know that this isn’t about grades though, this is about effort. Your teen could be in easy classes and getting high grades without putting in effort or your teen could be putting in a ton of effort but getting low grades. Pay attention to how much time and energy they’re exerting over their schoolwork and ask questions about what they did during their study hall. Get a sense of how hard they’re working to see if they’re interested or care about school.
  • When given a choice, they take the easiest path. Maybe you’ve allowed your teen to decide which classes to sign up for and, despite knowing they’re capable of higher-level courses, they’re taking the ones that are easy for them. Or perhaps they can choose their topic for a class project, and you notice them recycling something from another class despite having plenty of free time.
  • They shut down any conversation about school or show a negative attitude whenever it’s brought up. You try asking questions about their day, what they’re learning, or what projects they’re working on, but they change the subject, get angry, or completely shut down. You can’t find a way to bring up school without it resulting in an argument or being avoided altogether.

(*Please know that when teens are experiencing symptoms of mental health issues like depression or anxiety , they may also show these signs. However, the difference is that their apathy or lack of interest isn’t only confined to school. You notice it happening in other areas of their life too such as social withdrawal or not wanting to do things they were previously interested in.)

How To Get Your Teen Engaged in Learning

  • Students feel more excited about learning when they have a teacher who's excited about what they're teaching (Gallup, 2024). If your teen complains that their teacher is boring , uninterested in the material, or doesn't make the material more exciting, it may be a good idea to find a different teacher, hire a tutor who can get excited about the topic, or help your teen find what's interesting in the material.
  • Teens in the survey also reported that they're more engaged in learning when they like the subject matter (Gallup, 2024). This means making sure your teen has some say in what they're signing up for (when possible) or helping them connect the dots on how the information will help them in something they're truly interested in. For example, maybe your teen isn't so into their history class right now but is watching the political conventions and debates alongside you. Ask them how what they're learning in history is showing up in the debates or where they see connections to the past.
  • Teens said they like it when the learning is hands-on or when it's connected to real world experiences (Gallup, 2024). If your teen isn't getting that at school, help them find ways to get it at home. Perhaps taking a weekend trip to a field museum, doing your own science experiment together in the kitchen, or having them shadow a relative at work could help bridge the gap.

Engaging your teen in learning may feel impossible. However, by understanding what drives their interest, and actively seeking ways to make learning more relevant and exciting, you can help reignite their passion for education. Remember, it's not just about pushing them to do well in school but helping them find meaning in what they learn. When teens see the value in their education—whether through passionate teachers, relatable subject matter, or hands-on experiences—they are more likely to stay engaged and motivated, setting them up for success both now and in the future.

With a little creativity and patience, you can support your teen in rediscovering their enthusiasm for learning and ensure that they view their education as a powerful tool for achieving their goals.

As a new remote worker, I spent 3 years searching for the ‘perfect’ city — and finally found it

Collage or remote worker coming out of a computer screen on a pink gradient background

It was the end of another summer, and I was exactly where I'd been three years before. I’d spent those years searching for our next home, sifting the pros and cons of some 40 cities in the process while real estate prices around the country skyrocketed. I was out of ideas. What once seemed like a blessing — being able to choose where I wanted to live — now felt like a burden. And yet I couldn’t give up.

Like plenty of adults, where I lived was always tied to where I worked. Our first apartment after college was in the city where my husband happened to land a job. The next city? Another job. Those were the rules.

Then we both started working remote five years ago, and the rules changed. It was like the world opened up. For the first time, we could live wherever we wanted (at least, in the U.S. since we both work for U.S. employers). Any city, ours for the choosing … but which one?

And so began a multi-year search for where to live — an agonizing, arduous yet blithely optimistic quest for not just any city, but the perfect city.

I can’t be the only person obsessed with this. Searches for “ best city in the U.S. ” have tripled in the past five years, correlating with the rise in people working from home . Then there’s the bevy of annual “top places to live” lists that roam the internet. Livability , Money , Niche and Rocket Homes each recommend the best cities to settle down in, all with comforting data-backed analyses that I didn’t look too deep into, opting instead for browsing the listicles with their dazzling array of choices. Covington, Kentucky. Boulder, Colorado. Madison, Wisconsin. There are even curated lists for families (ask Fortune ) and young professionals ( Forbes has the scoop). I scoured them all with type A enthusiasm, certain the answer to my geographic dilemma was behind the next click.

After all, I didn’t want much. Just affordability, diversity, good weather, low crime, plenty of parks and bike trails, a strong job market, cultural opportunities and easy access to other cities and countries. Totally reasonable.

But for three years, I couldn’t find anything better than where I was. At the time we were based in Tampa, a metro area that pops up all over those “best city” lists. When people asked me why I wanted to move, I struggled to put it into words. But I felt it every time I looked out my living room window at those shadeless palm trees — like living in a postcard of last year’s summer vacation.

Cheryl Rodewig.

I can easily tell you all the reasons Tampa is an amazing place to live. It has a vibrant food and arts scene, no snow, no state income tax, and Disney World and award-winning beaches practically in your backyard. It should have been perfect, but it was never home. Like when you’re dating someone who’s smart and funny and nice and everything but, somehow, not for you.

Each year, I said this would be the year we moved. Each year, I renewed our lease, doubling down on my hunt for perfection. I looked at cities in Washington with great hiking nearby, but they were out of budget. I considered various cities in Indiana and Ohio for their low cost of living but ultimately discarded the entire Midwest (my apologies to all Midwesterners) as too remote for our tastes. We drove up to Tennessee (twice) and Georgia, flew to Oklahoma City, and visited every major city in Florida with a population over 100,000. Nothing fit. I briefly contemplated getting a life coach to talk us through it until the $6,000 price tag quoted on a Zoom call nearly knocked me off my kitchen table chair.

Then, on a whim last November, we took a weekend trip to Raleigh, North Carolina. I had decided to write a story on things to see and do in town. Fall color was at its peak — reds and golds I seldom saw, brightening the parks and greenways. We explored, ate locally sourced food and went for walks in the faint autumn crispness, just brisk enough to flirt with the idea of a sweater. Somehow, I knew I’d found it. Home. We moved to Raleigh this spring.

Cheryl Rodewig.

And we love it. Raleigh is the Goldilocks of American cities, a term I heard from one local that sums it up to a tee. Not too big or too small. Not too hot or cold. In between the mountains and the ocean. Progressive and diverse, yet surrounded by small towns and farmland. Of course, the city isn’t without downsides: soaring summer humidity, higher taxes than Florida, and honestly, I’d prefer those mountain waterfalls a couple hours closer. But all things taken together, like in the fairy tale, it’s just right.

I’d like to say it was careful analysis that got us here. Sure, I checked the stats: home prices, average temps, crime rate and the number of international destinations with direct flights from the Raleigh-Durham airport (nine, if you’re curious). And it’s true Raleigh comes in sixth in the recently released Best Places to Live list from U.S. News & World Report — third last year when I was still searching.

But it’s not about that. What I was looking for wasn’t ever going to rank in a spreadsheet. It’s more elusive yet, paradoxically, more tangible. It’s the summer sunflower fields and the university that makes its own ice cream and the grazing horses I pass on my drive in, even though we’re only 15 minutes from downtown. It’s leaving behind those relentless palm trees, trading up for the sprawling shady oaks that give the capital its understated nickname, City of Oaks.

Perhaps it’s not perfect. But it’s perfect for us, for right now, and that’s enough.

Passaic Valley Alum Struck In Head By Line Drive At College Baseball Practice, Family Says

Nicholas Fiorita was days into his baseball career at the County College of Morris when the unthinkable happened.

Nicholas Fiorita, who was in a medically-induced coma, is now breathing on his own, his family says.

essay on your school days

The freshman, who graduated from Passaic Valley High School last spring, was struck in the head by a line drive at practice on Wednesday, Sept. 4, according to a GoFundMe campaign launched by his sister, Sofia.

Fiorita has been in a medically-induced coma and, although he's since been taken off of a ventilator and is breathing on his own, it's too soon to say how his brain will respond to the injury, Sofia says.

As of Monday, Sept. 9, more than $35,700 had been raised on the campaign.

"He will have a long road ahead and this fund is being set up to cover all medical costs associated with his rehabilitation," Sofia writes. "Anything and everything helps! Please consider donating if you are able. I also ask that you say a prayer for my brother Nicholas, he is a strong believer in the power of God and prayer.

"He is one of the strongest people I know. Let's help him win this battle."
