What is a Research Project?

A research project is similar to the commission’s tab.
It is granted more complicated, and unlike the commission’s tab, there are requirements for fulfilling them.
You can get all sorts of cool stuff and good rewards from priority research, including prototype gun blueprints, and most importantly, you can get a priority ship blueprint.

How to Access the Research Project?

You can access the research project once you unlock the Lab Tab, and once you click that, you can go to Research Academy, and from here, you will be greeted with five different projects to choose from.

It is generally always good to have one of these activities to maximize your rewards, and the higher rarity projects will yield more rewards. So the best would be rainbow, gold, purple and then blue respectively. However, there are times that the blue version is the best such as the Q and the G one.

What is Research PR3/PR2/PR1 Focus?

There are two buttons you can find in the bottom right that says “Research PR2 Focus,” and it is interchangeable between three different modes.
You can either set it to PR to focus, no focus, or PR one focus. If you set the button to either PR2 focus or PR1 focus, there will be a higher chance for that project of that certain priority to appear.

The other button that says “Refresh” will reroll your projects if you don’t like any of the five options you have on screen. You can only use the Refresh button once a day, and it will then be grayed out. It will then reset at midnight, and you can do it once more.

Now that you already know about the basics of the priority research tab let’s get into the individual project letters and find out which one is the best for you.

Best Projects for PR Blueprints

The best project that you can do to get PR blueprints the fastest will be the H series.
It takes a super short amount of time compared to the other commissions with similar rarity, and it gives a perfect amount of blueprints.
There is also a special gold version of project H that only takes 30 minutes, and it costs only 8000 gold and three wisdom cubes. It gives a high reward, and it only takes a little amount of time to finish.
It costs wisdom cubes where most people would prefer to spend in gacha instead of PR research.
You should only be doing project H when you have a ton of wisdom cubes, and you don’t have anything to use them on, or when you just really want to finish up a PR ship’s blueprint the fastest.

Go-to project for most people, and it only costs gold which is relatively easy to come by than wisdom cubes.
It also has a guaranteed chance to drop at least one blueprint for that particular ship shown. For instance, a Project D with Ibuki shown then an Ibuki blueprint is guaranteed, which is amazing.
The blue version is excellent, so you should do that. However, the gold version is better than the blue one.
The purple one is debatable bad, and this is because the blue one usually has the same amount of rewards as the purple one, but it costs more, and it also takes more time.
It also has a 30-minute version that can come out another gold or rainbow rarity; it costs five thousand gold and five wisdom cubes, so you should be doing them.
This will most likely be the most used project when you want to get PR blueprints.

It has a faster time to finish, but it does not have that guaranteed PR ship blueprint that project D has.
The only version worth doing at project G is the blue version that is one hour and 30 minutes. This is because it is an hour faster than the blue version of project D, so if you see the one hour and 30 project G, it is always good to do it.
If you see any other version of project G, such as the blue two-hour 31 or the purple version of G, do not do it because it is a waste and bad use of your gold.

Best Project for Low Gold or Cubes

The best to do when you have no resources because it has no requirements, and it costs nothing to go and start.
It also has pretty good rewards.
It takes a long time with each rarity.

Best Projects for the Need of Refresh

The blue one-hour version is the best to do because it costs equipment parts, and usually, those are very abundant to come by.
The blue one will only ask for a couple of gray or blue parts, which you should have plenty of, and after that, you can do the one-hour version because that is a good one and then you can get a brand new refresh and five new choices to go and choose from.
Has terrible rewards.
It requires you to scrap equipment for you to get that brand new refresh.
Has bad rewards.

Bad Projects:

The project itself takes a long four hours no matter the rarity, so it doesn’t really save time, and it also has the most annoying requirement.
One of the requirements is to complete a certain amount of stages and a certain amount of times on a certain chapter, so this is the most time-consuming and strenuous activity that you can do.
The only time that you should consider doing this B research is if the gold version pops up as it has relatively good rewards. However, this would mean that you would have to clear three or four stages in chapters 11, 12, or 13, which is a lot of work.
Requires you to complete commissions which takes a lot of time.
Use it as the last option because everything else is better than this.

Downside:

Mediocre rewards.
Takes a longer time than Project Q and E.

Fleet Tech [ ]

The Fleet Tech section is divided into two area: Fleet and Faction.

The Fleet tab displays a list of every ship in game and the total Tech Points you've earned. Players earn Tech Points by

Acquiring ships for the first time
Max Limit Breaking a ship
Having a ship reach level 120

Roon Tech Points

In addition, tapping on a ship will display how many Tech Points can be earned or have been earned, and the fleet buffs unlocked. For example:

Acquiring Roon will award 38 Tech Points and the buffs below will be applied to your entire fleet.
Max Limit Breaking Roon will award 76 Tech Points
Reaching level 120 with Roon will award 56 Tech Points and the buffs below will be applied to your entire fleet.

Note: The buffs provided from Unlocking and a ship reaching level 120 are only applied to max limit break ships

Faction [ ]

The Faction tab provides buffs to all max limit break ships in your fleet.

As you earn Tech Points from ships, their faction will also earn points. Once a faction reaches the maximum for its level, it can be upgraded and will provide buffs to all max limit break ships in your fleet, regardless of their faction.

Research Academy [ ]

The Research Academy allows plays to obtain Strengthening Blueprints for Priority Ships in the Shipyard and blueprints for prototype equipment.

Tapping the Research Academy will display 5 research projects, and tapping the a research project will show the time, the costs (if any), and any further requirements to complete.

Research projects display a level of rarity:

Rare: marked by a blue background, most often associated with research projects that don't award priority ship blueprints
Elite: marked by a purple background, better than average rewards and may come with higher start costs
Super Rare: marked by a gold background, better rewards and highest initial start costs

Completion Time [ ]

Research projects also contain of the following keywords:

Small: small projects have the shortest time to complete, ranging from 00:30:00 to 02:30:00 hours
Medium: 04:00:00 to 06:00:00 to complete
Large: large project take the longest to complete: 06:00:00 to 12:00:00 hours

Naming Convention [ ]

Type	Class	Requirements
B	Data Collection	These projects include a requirement to complete any map within a specified chapter a number of times.
C	Basic Research	These projects are show up as Medium and Large but take longer to complete.
D	Cognition	These projects more often produce additional Strengthening Blueprints and specify when Priority Ships Strengthening Blueprint will be produced for.
E	Collection	These projects produce prototype equipment blueprints but require a donations of equipment blueprints to start.
G	Grant Donation	Similar to D projects, G projects produce Strengthening Blueprints and prototype equipment blueprints but with less quantity.
H	Cube Analysis	These projects take less time to complete but require a donation of Wisdom Cubes to start.
Q	Rigging Analysis	Q projects require a donation of common equipment parts to begin and award prototype and regular equipment blueprints when completed
T	Commission	These projects require the completion of a number of commissions.

All UR characters will be added to both the Heavy and Special Construction Pools when they become permanently available in standard Construction Pools regardless of ship type.
In standard construction pools, the combined chance to build an Ultra Rare ship is 1.2%. This chance is divided equally among all Ultra Rare ships available. Due to the addition of UR characters in standard construction pools, the chance to build Normal ships will be reduced, while the chance to build other ships remains unchanged. (Take this standard construction as an example: In a single standard construction pool, Shinano and New Jersey equally share the combined chance of 1.2%, so the construction chance is 0.6% each.)

UR characters that have been added to standard Construction Pools will be unavailable in Event Construction Pools.
Every time you build in any of the standard Light, Heavy, Special, or Event pools without an obtainable UR shipgirl, you gain UR Exchange points at a rate of 1 point per Wisdom Cube used (up to a total of 400.) When you use Build Tickets, the amount of points you get is equal to the number of Wisdom Cubes that that build would have cost. 400 UR Exchange points can be traded for any one of the permanently available UR shipgirls.
The Exchange points count will begin after the maintenance on January 18. The Exchange points will not continue to count after reaching the upper limit (400 points).

Research
Unlocked at Commander Level 30, the Research Academy is a place where the player can undertake Research Projects. Projects may require the player to pay resources or complete an objective, and it takes time to complete. When completed, Projects can produce General Blueprints and other rewards.
Research Academy
Five available research options to pick from with one daily reset available. Five randomly-chosen research projects are given. All five are refreshed upon finishing a project or queuing the current research in progress. You are also allowed to refresh the entire set once per server day (i.e. between server midnights).

I don't know if hourly contribution value is a thing, but the other stuff kinda makes some sense lol. For cube research it has to be recommendable, that's why there's barely any 2hr H and no 4hr H as it becomes more and more cube inefficient. So the 1hr H has to be the workhorse.
