China Rising DLC

Abbreviated Walkthrough:

Welcome to the first of five expansion pack for Battlefield 4. China Rising introduces four new maps which include Altai Range, Dragon Pass, Guilin Peaks & Silk Road all based on the Chinese mainland. The Air Superiority game mode is back and five weapons make a return including the L85A2, L96A1, MP7, MTAR-21 & RPK-74M. The expansion also adds two new gadgets, the UCAV & SUAV as well as the addition of two vehicles, the Dirt Bike from the previous game as well as the new Bomber. All five achievements are multiplayer based but they do not all have to be gained on the China Rising maps such as the SUAV kill, most of the assignments can also be completed on any map. Each achievement can more or less be done in an hour each depending on your skill apart from the Assignments which can take anywhere upwards from 10hrs of gameplay. The assignments require a variety of actions to be taken, some more difficult than others such as gaining different ribbons, kills with air vehicles, weapons & gadgets as well as getting different types of weapon kills in a single round etc.

Naval Strike DLC

Naval Strike is the third expansion for Battlefield 4. It adds all of the following for the low price of $15 (or free with Premium):

• 4 all-new multiplayer maps set in the South China Sea
• 2 additional gadgets and 5 weapons all-new to Battlefield 4
• Introducing the amphibious hovercraft vehicle
• Carrier Assault game mode which is a re-imagining of the classic Battlefield 2142 Titan Mode
• 10 new assignments with their own unlocks

The five new achievements are tied to using the various new additions in the expansion. You'll need to unlock the AA Mine by completing a new assignment, and two achievements require playing on the Wave Breaker and Operation Mortar maps. Other than the AA mine, they're all available to acquire out of the gate. It's just a matter of knowing what to do and when.

Obtain 7 000 points in the Baku mission in the Campaign

There is an achievement to earn a certain amount of points in each of the seven story missions. The points required for all these achievements are approximately 1000 points higher than the gold requirement for each mission which are listed in the Mission select menu, or the pause menu during a mission. All these achievements can easily be completed on the Hard difficulty if you wish to only go through one playthrough, but this will require you to take a little more time throughout the missions. Difficulty does not affect the points you earn so feel free to revisit the levels on easy if you were unsuccessful during your first playthrough. You earn points by doing the following thigns:

• Kill an enemy - 100
• Headshot - 25
• Adrenaline kill – 50 (Killing an enemy when your health is at 30 or below)
• Squad/teammate kill - 50
• Ordered squad kill - 100 (Press RB to order squad)
• Vehicle destroyed - 100
• Killstreak - 50
• Multi kill - 100 for every enemy (2 killed in quick succession = 200 points + 200 points = 400 points.)

You will have to complete this game on "Hard" difficulty to unlock this achievement. The game shouldn't cause you too many problems at all, but there are a few pointers that will make it a little easier if you are struggling:

• Choose the right weapon for the situation - Change your weapon to suit your needs when possible
• Use the tactical binos to scan areas once you enter them while will show all enemy locations
• Stay close to cover at all times and be ready to hide when necessary
• Take your shots while crouched and stationary, and avoid enemy grenades
• If stuck, try a different approach to the situation

With these few tips, you should be able to beat the campaign without too much difficulty. The achievement will unlock as soon as you complete Mission 7: Suez, and should stack with the Easy and Normal difficulty achievement. If those do not unlock, complete the final level on those difficulties while going for the other endings. You can find a hard walkthrough on YouTube HERE .

Get 10 kills with C4 in the Baku mission in the Campaign

As you progress through Mission 1: Baku, you will come to a small crate marked by a "gear" symbol on your map. Make sure you equip the C4 at this point. In the first section, you can mark the targets, and sneak around to kill all 4 of them with 3 C4 charges, although it's not completely necessary that you kill all of them. Now, after killing all of them, immediately sprint forward towards the objective where a truck with 3 enemies will stop. As soon as it stops, throw a C4 charge and detonate when they jump out to get another 3-4 kills. From here, I suggest you just progress as normal until you reach the next equipment cache later on, where you can refill your C4, and come back to it at any point for extra ammo. What I recommend is first sprinting up the scaffolding on your left hand side after exiting the pipe. There should be 3 enemies on this catwalk that you should be able to kill with 1 C4 charge, and you will unlock the achievement here if you've not missed any enemies. Otherwise, sprint towards the middle of the area, and kill some enemies near the truck, and sprint to the very back of this open battlefield to find 6-8 enemies all bunched up together, and you should be able to kill most of them with 1 or 2 C4 charges, unlocking the achievement.

Get 10 multi-kills in the Shanghai mission in the Campaign

This is attained during Mission 2: Shanghai. You can begin getting this achievement as soon as you exit out of the elevators. I recommend either using a shotgun, or another powerful weapon that you can get quick kills with in short range situations. The key to this achievement is to use grenades to kill groups of enemies. Additionally, you can also throw a grenade at 1 enemy and then shoot and kill another enemy as the grenade explodes for it to count as a "multi-kill". It is also key to use claymores in the lobby area, and also on the helipad, which can easily get multiple kills for you. After the helipad, you'll be running through some alleys as you try to avoid a tank. This is another good area to throw grenades and kill multiple enemies that will be grouped up in small areas. Also, at the very end of the level, you will have to take care of two tanks, which will always result in multikills for you.

Get 30 headshots in the South China Sea mission in the Campaign

For this achievement, you'll need to get 30 headshot kills during Mission 3: South China Sea. There are easily 50 enemies on this level, so you won't need to get that many headshots. Also, stay away from RB as this will make your teammates engage, and kill enemies. I recommend using the following weapons, which you should have unlocked by this mission: - MK11 Mod 0 (Short/Medium Range) - Scout Elite (Long Range) If you don't have these weapons, make sure you use a power single shot weapon. Just make your way through the level, and get as many headshots as you can. Use cover, and take your time making sure to get the kill. You'll get a headshot confirmation in the points that show up at the bottom of the screen. If trying to line up really long distance shots, make sure you use the D-pad to compensate from bullet drop. Once you get 30 headshots, the achievement will unlock.

Get 15 kills with RPG in the Singapore mission in the Campaign

This achievement takes place during Mission 4: Singapore. After progressing through the mission, and getting access to a tank, you'll come to a equipment cache, marked by a gear icon on your map. Get out of your tank and make sure to equip the "RPG-7V2". From this point, you have a lot of different opportunities to get 15 kills. You'll want to keep your tank with you, so continue through the map inside of it, and get out when you see enemies. Progress into the upcoming section, and make sure to destroy all 4 tanks in this area, which will get you an easy 8 kills for the achievement. You are free to revisit the cache to refill your RPG ammo at any point. There will be more and more tanks after this section, but they will take 4+ RPG shots, which aren't really worth your ammo. Once you reach the parking garage, try taking care of as many ground units as possible using the RPG. You might get the achievement at this point, but if you don't, don't worry, there are plenty of enemies further on. You will eventually come to a large building with 3-4 enemies inside, and then a bridge with an additional 15+ enemies on it. Just make sure you bring full ammo to this section, and you should be able to get a large amount of them. If you miss too many shots, feel free to reload the checkpoint. Once you get 15 kills, you'll unlock the achievement.

• Infiltrator

Get 10 adrenaline kills in the Tashgar mission in the Campaign

You will need to get 10 adrenaline kills during Mission 6: Tashgar. An adrenaline kill happens when you get a kill with less than 30 health, while your screen is bloodshot. I recommend doing this a shotgun, and you may also have more luck if you play on an easier difficulty, although the video is on hard. You'll want to sneak up behind enemies that are alone in a building or behind cover. Let them see you and begin shooting you. Make sure you are close to them and are aiming at them. As soon as you lose enough health, and see that you're in the red, use your shotgun to kill them immediately. This method also works well with grenades, and even with C4 against tanks. There are a decent amount of enemies during this level, so just continue to use this method through the checkpoints until you get the achievement/trophy.

Get 5 kills with Shank in the Kunlun Mountains mission in the Campaign

At the beginning of Mission 5: Kunlun Mountains, you'll be given a shank and then told to shut off power in a tower. Just draw your shank, and sneak around the the outside of this area, trying to stay out of sight from the enemies. Sneak up to enemies, and press melee to kill them. There are 7 enemies in this first area for you to kill, and you can melee them even if they spot you. Additionally, there are more clueless enemies near the end of this level where you can get more shank kills. After getting 5 kills with the shank, you'll unlock the achievement/trophy.

At the very end of Mission 7: Suez, you will come to part where you, Irish, and Hannah are hanging above a ship, and you must make a decision on what must be done:

You have 3 options:

• For Tombstone: Do nothing, destroying the valkyrie
• For the People: Hand the C4 to Irish
• For the Cause: Hand the C4 to Hannah

You will have to play the last level a total of 3 times to unlock all three individual endings. You are free to play on any difficulty, and run through the level as fast as possible. As soon, as you've triggered all three endings, the achievement will unlock.

You need to win at least once in each of the seven game modes currently available. You can keep track of what game modes you have won by going into your Stats on the Main Menu and checking your Victory ribbons for each game mode. You will still earn a Victory medal even if you join a game after it has started. The game modes include:

• .45 old school

Perform 45 kills with the M1911 Handgun in Multiplayer

In order to unlock the M1911 Handgun, you need to accumulate a total of 34,000 points with Pistols only. This includes any points that are a direct result of the pistol, like suppression assists and kills. It is recommended that you keep your pistol out whenever possible to maximize scoring potential. Be sure to make the most out of this when trying to build up your Pistols score. Once you unlock the M1911 Handgun, simply get a total of 45 kills with it in multiplayer. Also, you can get this achievement by picking the gun up from another player's kit. So it is possible for a friend to give you this gun if they have unlocked it, and it is also possible for you to pick it up from a dead enemy.

Deliver 5 bombs in Obliteration

You will need to play the Obliteration game mode, pick up/steal the bomb and plant it on one of the enemy teams base five different times. The point of this game mode is having two teams fight for control over a bomb that spawns in random locations on the map. Once a team collects the bomb, they have to plant it on any of the 3 enemy bases marked on the maps. Bombs can be dropped by players if killed and recollected. The bombs location is always shown on your screen and the map which can make this achievement a little difficult due to everyone trying to go after the same target. Therefore, it is recommended to try and go for this achievement while playing with friends or people that you can communicate with for maximum coordination and success. An alternative method of gaining this achievement more easily is to gather 4 players together, this is the minimal amount of players required to start a match. One player should filter empty lobbies through the server search, join one and invite the rest of the players once in the game. The game will place everyone on the same team and start. From here on, have everyone take turns getting their bomb deliveries. Random players can still join the lobby so if they're so if they prove to be too much trouble then you should quit out and find a new empty lobby. Note: The bomb must explode and destroy the base for it to count as delivered, if it is diffused by the enemy then it will not count.

Rank 25 requires roughly 800,000 total points. This can take anywhere from 15-50hrs depending on your playstyle and game modes you play. A few basic tips to new BF players;

• Customize and perfect your favoured class/loadout
• Play each game mode on how it’s intended to be played – play the objective
• Support your team e.g. drop ammo, health packs, revive, transport, spot enemies etc.
• Be a good Commander - When you’re finally picked, make the most out of it.
• Play in a Squad – so you have more spawn points available & earn squad bonus points.

Play a round of Air Superiority

You must complete a round of Air Superiority on any map and the achievement will unlock once the game ends. It does not matter whether you win or lose, and you can also join late to a game and still unlock the achievement.

Get a kill with the Dirtbike

This is easiest done on Rush mode as attackers, as most of the time there will be a large group of enemies around the MCOMS for some easy roadkill opportunities. Conquest is also a good mode as players will be scattered around the map, and 1-2 dirt bikes will also spawn on most if not all flag bases and home bases. Play in whichever camera view you’re comfortable in and look for unaware snipers for the easiest kills. The below video shows a player getting a roadkill with the dirtbike.

Kill an enemy with the SUAV

To unlock the SUAV you must complete the Safe Raiding assignment where you must reach rank 10 and get one bombing raid kill. The SUAV can be equipped as a gadget in your Recon class. Once you launch the SUAV, you will notice a battery icon with seven bars on the bottom right, the SUAV can only be flown for 60 seconds before it explodes. The SUAV also explodes on impact with anything and anyone. You need to try and kill an enemy with a direct hit by aiming and flying right into their stomach or back area for a kill. It is harder to hit a moving enemy therefore focusing on stationary enemies and especially snipers will make this easier. You can only carry one SUAV per life unless you find an ammo box in which case you're able to resupply your SUAV. Some players may prefer to use the SUAV in Conquest or Rush on bigger maps because of the larger space, control and freedom in flying around. Another approach is to play Domination on maps such as Paracel Storm, Golmud Railway & Rogue Transmission. These are all outdoor focused maps with several rooftop sniper opportunities and enemies will all be in close proximity of each other due to the limited space of the maps. Complete all China Rising Assignments

There are a total of 10 assignments you must complete each with multiple requirements. You must be rank 10 before attempting any of the assignments except "I'm Dynamite" where you must be rank 20. You can check the progress of your assignments in game under the Soldier menu or online at https://battlelog.battlefield.com Below are the descriptions and some general tips for each assignment. Note: All the assignments can be done on any map in the game and do not have to be completed on China Rising maps specifically, except for those that require vehicle specific maps. Bronze Assignments SAFE RAIDING -Get a kill with the bombing raid (Unlocks SUAV) See "Death From Above" for more info on getting kills with the bomber. EYES IN THE SKY -Air Superiority ribbon x1 -Jet Fighter ribbon x3 (Unlocks UCAV) You must win a round of Air Superiority for the first ribbon. Jet Fighter requires 5 jet kills in a single round, you must earn this ribbon 3 times. If you're inexperienced in jets, or find that Air Superiority games are too short then this can be boosted with 4 players. Using a jet such as the F-35 or J-20 (found on Dragon Pass) you should carefully land it on the ground in front of your enemy boosting partners and take turns earning kills with the jet. OPEN FIRE -Assault Rifle ribbon x3 -Get a kill with pistol in a round -Get a kill with 40mm grenade in a round -Get a kill with the defibrillator in a round (Unlocks L85A2) You must get 6 kills with Assault rifles in a single round for the ribbon. You will also have to earn this ribbon 3 times before attempting the second part of the assignment. Now you must earn a pistol kill, a grenade launcher kill & a defibrillator kill all in a single round (not life.) This should be done in Conquest or Capture the Flag for the maximum amount of time available for you. Quickly getting the pistol kill and a M320 grenade launcher kill out the way first is quite simple, then you should focus on the defibrillator kill specifically on unaware targets or snipers for an easy opportunity. You must charge the defibrillator for about 3 seconds for it to kill the enemy. MAKE A DENT -Destroy an air vehicle with portable AA -Anti-Vehicle ribbon x3 (Unlocks MP7) The Stinger & Igla launchers within the Engineer class are both portable Anti Air launchers that can be used to take down aircraft. You can also use AA Tanks found in Dragon Pass & Altai Range. You must destroy two vehicles in a single round for the Anti-Vehicle ribbon, and you must earn this ribbon 3 times. POWDER KEG -Get 1 Mortar kill -LMG ribbon x3 (Unlocks RPK-74M) To unlock the M224 Mortar, you must earn 76,000 points in the Support class. Once unlocked, equip the gadget and simply earn 1 kill, preferable in Domination as there's a smaller area to get kills more easily with. You must get 6 kills with LMG's for the ribbon, and earn this ribbon 3 times. NEED ONLY ONE -Sniper Rifle ribbon x3 -Get a kill with a shotgun in a round -Get a kill with a DMR in a round -Get a kill with C4 in a round (Unlocks L96A1) You must get 6 kills with Snipers in a single round for the ribbon. You will also have to earn this ribbon 3 times before attempting the second part of the assignment. Now you must earn a shotgun kill, a DMR kill & a C4 kill all in a single round (not life.) Getting the shotgun & DMR kill is simple enough. For an easy C4 kill, planting some at an MCOM in Rush or around a flag base in Conquest or Domination is good method for an easy kill. Silver Assignments MOTHER OF ALL BOMBS -Get 15 kills with the bombing raid -Destroy an enemy bomber (Unlocks Cruise Missile) See "Death From Above" for more info on getting kills with the bomber. If you're still having trouble getting kills with the bomber, you can boost them by getting 4 players together and find an empty Conquest server for any of the China Rising maps in the server browse. Have all players on the opposing team stand together at one of the flag for the bomber. Destroying a bomber can be difficulty. You can either destroy it with a Jet if you're experienced in flying and have some upgrades unlocked. Using AA launchers such as the Stinger or Igla is another option, although they take around 4-5 shots to destroy the bomber whilst you will only have time to get 3 shots in if you're lucky. The easiest way to destroy a bomber is to use the Mobile AA tank, they are found on Dragon Pass & Altai Range. MULTI TALENT -Get a kill with a sniper rifle in a round -Get a kill with an assault rifle in a round -Get a kill with an LMG in a round -Get a kill with a hand grenade in a round (Unlocks MTAR-21) All you need to do for this assignment is earn a sniper, assault rifle, LMG & a grenade kill in a single round (not life.) The three weapon kills are simple enough, for the grenade kill you should play as a Support class and equip ammo boxes so you're able to resupply your grenades. Playing in Domination or Rush are good choices if you want the best chance of a quick grenade kill as you will often find many enemy players grouped around the objectives. I'M DYNAMITE -Bomber Delivery ribbon x3 -Get 20 UCAV kills -Score a multikill! (Unlocks Airburst) You must be rank 20 to unlock this assignment. You must get 3 bomber kills in a single round for the Bomber Delivery ribbon, you must earn this ribbon 3 times. The kills do not have to be multikills. The UCAV is unlocked once completing the "EYES IN THE SKY" assignment. The UCAV is similar to the SUAV, except it self detonates 10 seconds after launching it, you can detonate it yourself once it's in the air at any time. You can kill enemies by either hitting them with the UCAV directly which will count as a roadkill or you can fly the UCAV into the ground near enemies leading to the splash damage often killing the enemies. You will need to get 20 total UCAV kills. A multikill in this game is the same as a double kill, unlike previous games where you would have to get 3 kills within a few seconds for a multikill bonus. Gold Assignments MIDDLE KING -Play 10 hours of China Rising -Get a kill streak of 5 -Get a kill with SUAV You will need to play a total of 10 game time hours of the four maps across any of the game modes the maps are available to play on. Getting a kill streak of 5 isn't too difficult, getting into a tank with a friend is one of many methods. See "Mini Kamikaze" for more info on getting a kill with the SUAV. DLC: Naval Strike

Play a round of Carrier Assault

Carrier Assault is the new game type introduced in Naval Strike, which is a re-imagining of Titan mode from Battlefield 2142. It plays like a mixture of Conquest and Rush. In the first part of the game, you capture flags while your cannons bombard the enemy carrier (and theirs bombard yours). Once the carriers are breached, your objectives change to board the enemy carrier and destroy two MCOM stations. Search for a game in the Server Browser, and complete it. Win or lose, you'll get this achievement.

• Killing Me Softly

Get a kill in the ACV

The ACV is a new amphibious hovercraft vehicle, which smoothly transitions from water to land. It looks like a large inflatable raft with a giant propeller strapped on the back. To get this achievement, you need to score a roadkill with the ACV, as kills as the passenger do not count. Look for players swimming about the water or who are engaged with combat with someone else. These new maps have lots of water, so you're bound to find someone swimming about.

Climb the highest point in Naval Strike

The highest point in the Naval Strike expansion can be found on the Wave Breaker map. This map features a large island cave in the center of the map, which houses a submarine. You can climb on top of this island near the B flag, and then make your way to the highest peak, which is on a rock to the North of the three electrical towers. Stand on the rock for a few moments to unlock the achievement. Here's a video by HarryNinetyFour :

• Fly Swatter

Kill an enemy with the AA Mine

The AA Mine is a new weapon for engineers, which takes the place of your rocket launcher. To unlock it, you'll need to be at least rank 10, and complete the "Death from Below" Naval Strike assignment. The requirements are: - PDW ribbon x3 (Get six kills in a round with a PDW, the engineers default weapon class) - Destroy 5 attack air vehicles with Rocket Launchers (This can be any aircraft except transport helicopters) Once you unlock it, add it to your engineer kit. It is possible to get the achievement by picking up a dead engineer's kit, but you'd need to finish it before dying yourself. Getting a kill with it is tricky, as the AA Mine is not very strong, doing only 30 vehicle damage per hit, and you can only carry and deploy two at a time. You also can't control when they fire; they'll target and fire upon the first aircraft that comes within range. To increase your odds of getting a kill, look for aircraft that are already heavily damaged, lay down your mines, and hope for the best. If you have a squad mate playing support, they can drop an ammo box to refill your AA mines, and you can drop two more as soon as your first two fire. As long as the kill feed says the kill came from the AA MINE, you'll get the achievement. To boost this, get three others and find an empty Naval Strike map. Have one on each team play support, and the other play engineer with the AA mine equipped. Meet up together and have the engineer place the two AA mines down. Have the support player throw down an ammo box, and have the engineer refill the mines. Have the opposing team fly a helicopter to the meeting place, and hover in front of the two mines, triggering them and taking damage. As soon as the first mine launches, the engineer should lay down the other two mines he picked up as refills. They'll also launch at the chopper, and the four hits in quick succession should be enough to destroy the chopper and kill the pilot. Alternatively, you can do with with two people, one on each team. Meet up with a helicopter, and have the engineer damage the chopper with the repair tool. Once the chopper's health is down to about 50, lay down the two AA mines. Once both of them hit, they should destroy the chopper and get the kill. Here's a video by 4DWin.com , who uses the repair tool to damage the chopper before destroying it with AA mines:

Get a kill with the old cannon

Load up a game of Conquest on the Operation Mortar map, and work your way up the hill (or fly) to B flag. There are three cannons up there to choose from, two overlook the water, and one overlooking land (E flag). The best one to use is the one that overlooks E flag, as there is a path up the hill, and players will often use it to get to the hilltop where the cannons are. Hang out near the cannon, and wait until you see an enemy coming your way. When you spot one, hop into the cannon, aim, and blast away. To aim, ignore the white targeting dot, and instead line up your shot with the bottom of the cannon. It'll might take you a few attempts, but is pretty straightforward.
