Roblox offers a variety of math-tastic adventures that can be incredibly beneficial for parents looking for educational games for their kids. Did you know that many Roblox Maths games can be helpful for children with ADHD? They are designed to improve cognitive skills like attention, problem-solving, and memory. Exciting and engaging gameplay keeps kids, who have trouble focusing, engaged for longer periods of time.

Whilst there are many games that use the word Math/s in their name, I’ve found when playing them they’re often so buggy or boring that they’re not worth introducing to my students – so I figured why not make a list of the best Maths games on Roblox, to save you the headache of trying them all out yourself! There are quite a few other games that I use with my students that aren’t exclusively Maths related but still have a lot of great mathematical content inside, which I’ll include in another blog post later – so stay tuned!

‘ Math Difficulty Chart Obby ’ is a fresh face on the Roblox Maths scene, and a very exciting one at that. It’s a rather unique game on Roblox that you don’t want to miss trying out – the developer PerfectlySquared has put a lot of love into it! 

While it follows the familiar formula of navigating obstacle courses and solving Maths problems, what I LOVE about this game is the way it covers so many of the topics within Key Stage 1 – 3, with most other games being fairly basic in the Maths they include. Each level is designed to be both fun and educational, with courses that range from simple jumps to more complex challenges like dodging obstacles and sliding blocks. The game also features a unique difficulty chart that allows players to choose their own challenge level based on their Maths skills, ensuring that players of all ages and abilities can enjoy the game. 

It is still a bit rough around the edges as the developer fine-tunes the perfect balance of learning and enjoyment, something very important in any Maths game, so if your child isn’t used to Obbies on Roblox then perhaps play the other games in this list first.

[3] Math Obby

Introducing ‘ Math Obby ’, the grandad of cool Maths games on Roblox, created by the legendary (in my opinion) 0bid0 , a 16-year-old Roblox developer who I’ve featured in one of my livestreams !  It combines fun platformer-style gameplay with Maths problems and was the inspiration for me to start creating my own Maths games on the platform. 

In this game, players navigate through a series of obstacle courses while solving Maths equations at the same time. The obstacles range from simple jumps to more complex challenges to polish your kids’ parkour skills. The Maths problems are designed to test a player’s knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. A fantastic game to practise general mathematics on Roblox! Overall, Math Obby provides an entertaining and educational experience that is suitable for players of all ages.

Found in the ‘ Fun Creative Builders ’ Roblox Group, and created by ‘ NoFreeIPS ’, get ready to scale new heights with ‘ Tower of Math ’. This cool Roblox Maths game is an arcade-style experience that challenges players to use their Maths skills to climb, well, a tower! 

In the game, players will have to solve Maths problems to progress to the next level of the tower. As players conquer their way through it, the difficulty increases, and the levels become more challenging. However, there are no extreme Maths problems in this Roblox game, so it’s quite a pleasant climb!

But don’t worry, it’s not just about solving Maths problems – players also collect coins along the way they can use to skip some obstacles to climb even higher! It’s also possible to purchase some upgrades and fun items like flying carpets, at a fairly reasonable price compared to many other games on Roblox. With its compelling gameplay and educational content, Tower of Math is a fun and rewarding experience for players of all ages.

[5] Guess the Maths

‘ Guess the Maths ’, part of the ‘ Guess The ??? ’ series, is another fun Maths game on Roblox for kids. This experience presents players with a series of Maths problems, where they will have to use their critical thinking skills to figure out the answers. The questions are fairly basic in difficulty throughout the majority of the game, ensuring that players of all levels can enjoy the experience. There are a few upgrades that can be purchased through Robux at reasonable prices to make the game more enjoyable.

The Best Educational Roblox Games for Science Loving Kids

In the vast world of Roblox, there are many different game styles. From RPGs to obbys, your kiddo is sure to find something they love to play. However, one category tends to be less popular — educational games. 

But why? Kids love to learn (really, they do). But after a full week of school, most children are not jumping at the chance to play these overtly educational video games. They want to relax and have fun. Take a brain break.

Kinjo believes there are loads of Roblox games with learning and life skills practice (just check out the Kinjo app for some of our top recommendations). And we love analyzing the challenges in these non-traditional-educational games. 

But there are some Roblox games that find a good mix of fun and (more explicit) learning. And today we’re going to explore two of them — the Roblox science games Mission: Mars and Pathogen Patrol.

Mission: Mars

Is your child interested in space and engineering? Point them to Mission: Mars !

In this Roblox game (developed by the Boston Museum of Science and Filament Games), players design their own Mars Rover to complete missions on the Red Planet’s surface. 

• What should they customize to help them jump over a large canyon?
• Do they need to add parts to help them search for water under the surface?
• Why did the last mission fail and what needs to be changed for future success?

This game requires a lot of critical thinking skills . And since the game mechanics and design are based on real-life NASA data, it’s easy to see how this game can translate into real-life problem-solving skills. 

One quick note — playing this game on a tablet is tricky. It’s especially hard to control the rover, and that may frustrate some kids right off the bat. They’ll get the hang of it after a while. But, if possible, we recommend playing Mission: Mars on a computer.  

What your child can learn from Mission: Mars

Your child can learn a ton of academic and life skills from this Roblox game! 

Outside of the critical thinking skills we’ve already mentioned, this game is a great introduction to engineering basics. So much of engineering is building and testing, and then re-building when you inevitably fail. And Mission: Mars puts the perseverance required in engineering disciplines right into the game. 

Want to really bring all these skills home? Download the game’s Educator Guide ! This guide is perfect for homeschooling families or for setting up a weekend project. 

Inside the guide, you’ll find hands-on engineering and math activities, as well as mission logs and follow-up questions. There’s also a nifty vehicle crafting manual to help you figure out the best way to design your rover for each mission.

Even if your child balks at worksheets or traditional instruction, they can still enjoy the learning found in Mission: Mars!

Pathogen Patrol

If your child enjoys action-packed adventures, suggest they check out Pathogen Patrol!

This educational game (created by Project Lead the Way ) takes players into the human body. The mission — fight off deadly pathogens that cause infections. 

When your child starts the game, they are taken through 3 different tutorials explaining both the game mechanics and the types of white blood cells they can choose to fight with. The learning can come on a little strong here, but it’s all important information for completing your missions. 

As players learn about the different types of white blood cells they’re also battling hordes of incoming bacteria and viruses. And while the game mechanics are fairly simple, keeping up with all the info to choose the best defense at the right time is tricky.

What your child can learn from Pathogen Patrol

So many things!

As we mentioned, the tutorials take you through a lot of learning. Your child will discover the names of different white blood cells — like dendritic and macrophage — and what they do. Pathogen Patrol will also teach how the body responds to infection. 

There’s also a lot of big-picture learning going on. The human body is a complicated system. The game breaks it all down into fun bits of info, but they don’t shy away from the complexity of it either.

Even playing this game as an adult, we had to work hard to remember what each cell’s primary function was. And then keep in mind the likely next steps while fighting our microscopic battles. This strategic thinking creates many great learning moments for kids (and adults alike)! 

Not Every Kid Will Love Educational Roblox Games

At Kinjo, we know some kids reject overtly educational gameplay. If you have one of those kids, don’t worry! We chose to focus on these games because they’re also a lot of fun.

But if they start playing these science games and can’t get past the heavily educational tutorials, remind them that every game has a learning curve. Reading the descriptions and use of each cell is no different than learning the stats of their favorite Pokemon. This information helps them choose the best character for the job. 

If your kid is still wary, don’t push it. Yes, the more educational games are nice. And it’s much easier to see the explicit learning in these — meaning less screen time worries. But there’s still loads of learning in many of their favorite Roblox games too.

Problem-solving activities for elementary school kids (ages 5-10)

From traditional paper-and-pencil activities to online tools, below are some great activities for kids ages 5-10.

1. Coding Courses for Kids

It’s never too early to start learning the foundational concepts of computer programming! There are a number of courses appropriate for young students to start building their problem solving skills, including the award-winning Scratch Ninja course . For the uninitiated, Scratch is a user-friendly colorful drag-and-drop coding tool developed by MIT for making awesome games and animations while learning important coding logic. Or, for students who are visual learners, try a Minecraft Redstone Engineering course to find out how to build awesome inventions! There are many free coding classes to start with, to find your child's interests.

2. Tower Building

Turns out that kindergartners might be better engineers than grownups (at least according to this experiment)! The challenge was as follows: given 20 pieces of spaghetti, a yard of tape, and a yard of string, build the tallest possible tower that can support 1 marshmallow on top. After various groups of people tried it from Stanford and other universities, kindergartners ended up beating them for creating the tallest tower. Challenge your student to see how tall they can make their tower too!

3. Crosswords

Whether taken out of the newspaper or off of the web, crosswords are a useful logic puzzle for kids to work on. Crosswords encourage students to use context clues, as well as their reasoning skills by eliminating possible options as they progress. Plus, it’s easy to vary the difficulty of the puzzles, as well as find fun, themed crosswords for different holidays! There's even a Thanksgiving crossword for your student to try.

4. Jigsaw Puzzles

There’s nothing like a good, ole’ fashioned puzzle to challenge the mind. Each person takes a different approach to puzzle solving, whether they organize their pieces first, find all the corners, or do something totally different. Exploring different strategies for solving puzzles is an effective introduction to independently creating strategies for problem solving. This is a solid choice for students who are visual learners.

An age-old classic, LEGOs are a fantastic way to combine creative skills with problem solving. Students need to follow sequential steps and visualize to create their LEGO designs. It’s even better when students go beyond the kit instructions to create their own LEGO build, as students will have to learn to utilize limited resources while coming up with a structured plan for designing their idea. 6. Middle School Coding Courses

For those who have no prior coding experience, the Accelerated Scratch course is an excellent option, as it will introduce students to basic coding concepts while allowing them to make their games and animations. Working in total science requires students to think outside the box to accomplish their goal, and to prioritize teamwork. Try timing the students to see how quickly they can get it done, then let them reflect on the activity afterwards to see what strategies worked and what didn’t.

8. Event Planning

Have students plan their own event, like a fundraiser, a social, or a competition for their coding club . This will require students to collaborate by delegating tasks, coordinating supplies, budgeting, and more. Even planning something as simple as a pizza party still requires some logistical planning, and students will benefit from struggling through the process. Plus, they can get to enjoy the results of their work when the event finally arrives!

Arduino circuit boards are an excellent choice for children interested in engineering. Because Arduino is widely-popular, there are countless tutorials demonstrating its capabilities, such as creating a controller, custom RGB lighting, robotics, or more. Once students learn the basics, they can use Arduino boards to come up with creative solutions to their own problems. This is an excellent idea for highly-motivated kids who like to work by themselves.

Sudoku is an excellent number puzzle and a great problem-solving exercise. It requires students to evaluate multiple possible options as they try to fill in the puzzles, so students need to be able to create an organized approach to be successful. There are various difficulty levels for sudoku, so students can start easy, then advance as they become proficient at solving the puzzles.

Problem-solving activities for high school teens (ages 14+)

High school (14+) is a good time to incorporate group work into the activities, as students will need to learn to work collaboratively for their future in college and beyond.

11. Coding for Teens

Once reaching high school age, students are ready to tackle the complexities of text-based coding. This is where students can focus on their interests, whether it be web design , AI, app design , and more. Debate forces students to self-analyze, listen, and think critically before making decisions. These skills benefit students’ futures by making them strong, independent thinkers. UI Button order issue with my game

Hello. I am working on my own inventory system for my game and got it working completely fine expect for one problem with the order of the buttons on the inventory.

The problem I am having is with the order of the buttons. When you pick up an item, the item will appear in your inventory on the first slot. But in this case, it appears on the last slot, and goes in reverse from 5-1 instead of starting from slot 1 to slot 5, 1-5.

Here’s a video to show the issue that is happening:

You can see how in the video when I pick up an item, the item goes to the last slot (Slot 5) instead of where I want it to go first (Slot1) and going up from there.

The names for buttons start with there number. So for example, the first box is named “1Slot”, the second box is named “2Slot”, etc. I thought doing it like this will help put the buttons in a order so that when the tool appears in the inventory it goes by the first number. But it seems here that it goes by the last number instead which in this case is 5.

I know one way of solving this but I’m not sure how great of an idea it is so I came here to see if anyone knows a better way I can go about solving this and having the tools appear starting from Slot 1, and going up to Slot 5.

if you’re using an array for the slots, you could sort it by the LayoutOrder

or you could take ‘Slot’ out of the name (“1Slot” → tonumber(“1”)) and use the name as an index

there may be a better solution but this is what i thought of

I have the slots stored in a frame and I use a UIGridLayout to organize them. I’ll try the 2nd method out in a second and tell you what happens.

Yeah I’m not having the best luck of this but I’ll keep trying. One thing is I did some tests and it does seem that the buttons are going in order, it’s just like I said though, its starting from 5 and making its way down to 1 which I want the complete opposite of that. Is there any way at all that I can just change the order of which this is going in from 5 going down to 1 to 1 going up to 5?

Ok I just did the first suggestion you told me about the LayoutOrder and I actually got it to fix the problem so now when you equip a gear, it starts from the first box, making its way up to 5.

I did a little test with it and this is what I did, Obviously I’m gonna make some changes to this, it was just a test.

I was a little confused with what exactly you did there since the stuff you used there I never used before so I’m not to familiar with it, but I was able to make some connections and came up with this.

Is this the correct way or was there a better or different way I could’ve gone about this?

Nvidia and Microsoft are solving a big problem with Copilot+

When Microsoft announced Copilot+ PCs a few weeks back, one question reigned supreme : Why can’t I just run these AI applications on my GPU? At Computex 2024 , Nvidia finally provided an answer.

Nvidia and Microsoft are working together on an Application Programming Interface (API) that will allow developers to run their AI-accelerated apps on RTX graphics cards . This includes the various Small Language Models (SLMs) that are part of the Copilot runtime, which are used as the basis for features like Recall and Live Captions.

With the toolkit, developers can allow apps to run locally on your GPU instead of the NPU. This opens up the door to not only more powerful AI applications, as the AI capabilities of GPUs are generally higher than NPUs, but also the ability to run on PCs that don’t currently fall under the Copilot+ umbrella.

It’s a great move. Copilot+ PCs currently require a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that’s capable of at least 40 Tera Operations Per Second (TOPS). At the moment, only the Snapdragon X Elite satisfies that criteria. Despite that, GPUs have much higher AI processing capabilities, with even low-end models reaching to 100 TOPS, and higher-end options scaling even higher.

In addition to running on the GPU, the new API adds retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities to the Copilot runtime. RAG gives the AI model access to specific information locally, allowing it to provide more helpful solutions. We saw RAG on full display with Nvidia’s Chat with RTX earlier this year.

Outside of the API, Nvidia announced the RTX AI Toolkit at Computex. This developer suite, arriving in June, combines various tools and SDKs that allow developers to tune AI models for specific applications. Nvidia says that by using the RTX AI Toolkit, developers can make models four times faster and three times smaller compared to using open-source solutions.

We’re seeing a wave of tools that enable developers to build specific AI applications for end users. Some of that is already showing up in Copilot+ PCs, but I suspect we’ll see far more AI applications at this point next year. We have the hardware to run these apps, after all; now we just need the software.
