There will be no more P.E now for the rest of the term.
Homework is set during the third week of each half term and will take the form of a project to be completed over the course of the term. Separate class homework may be sent home on occasions on a Friday.

Happy Mother's Day from Class 11
Class 11 think about all the reasons that they love their Mums
This half term, your homework will take on a Science theme!
Your homework is going to be based on the theme
'The Interdependence of Organisms'.
I would like you to create a project/ report on between 2-4 animals from different habitats. You will need to look at what makes each animal suited to its environment and what food chain/web it is a part of. You may wish to focus on endangered animals and look at the threats to them and their habitat.
Please me as creative as possible with the format you choose to present your homework. Digital work e.g. a filmed new report or a presentation would be great! Likewise, a well-organised and thoughtfully presented hand written piece would also be greatly appreciated.
Just do your best! :)
Exploring shape in gymnastics
Making books on the ipads
Our magnificent musical instruments!
We have just completed our first topic, The Age of the Princes .
A great big THANK YOU to everyone who brought in their Castle homework. All of the models and projects were fantastic and it was clear that the children had worked hard on them.

Book review homework.

Everyone needs to pick a book to read over half term. I will be encouraging pupils to pick a book from the library but if pupils have a book at home or a book they are already reading, their job is to read and create a book review.
We have done this in class towards the start of the year, so pupils know what is expected of them. Pupils should include:
Book Title
Author
What they would rate the book (e.g. out of 10/ out of a 5-star rating etc.)
A brief overview of what the book is about without giving away plot too much
Their opinion on the book
Who would they recommend this too? (e.g. Year 5 pupils/ people who like fantasy novels/ people who enjoy comedy etc.)
Illustrations – drawings, could be from the book, could be what they imagine in the book
If pupils come to the end of half term and have only read a few chapters, pupils can create a book review on these few chapters and maybe predict what they think will happen next. We will be sharing these in class in the week after half term.
It is up to pupils how they present this. It can be drawn and written out or they can go to the library website and upload a book review there.

Ongoing Maths Homework. After half term we will be moving onto multiplication so an ongoing homework of learning all times tables up to 12 times tables is what pupils can be doing to prepare and improve their maths skills. Songs can help (search any on Youtube that are catchy and memorable). Repetition of times tables.
This week (WC 4th November) we have been looking at instruction writing as a class. After our fantastic Lansdowne Food Festival before half term, we would love to make a Lansdowne Cookbook. As homework, please work with your child to write a recipe that can be used in the Lansdowne Cookbook.
